BT Play-offs

Won by 8 wickets

Reporter's Summary
Southend United
Top Order: remarkable
Middle Order: respectable
Lower Order: woeful
Seam Bowling: exquisite
Spin Bowling: strong
Fielding: mediocre

MOTM: Bartlett

With the 20 20s coming i wished Id bowled to save PFL thats my default but I switched this a few days back amd forgot to swap back to default. last time I looked I was 333 for 1 with a few overs to come - will probably roll them out for 100 or less. Tomorrows 2020 is the hardest of the 3

Beyond Heresy:
End of Over 50: 309-6, runrate=6.18
Brazier 10-0-77-1
Spencer* 39 (38 balls)
King 24 (17 balls)

Last Wicket: Daniel b. Wood 26 (FOW: 265/6)

Pretty good total but I don't have great confidence in my bowling attack, it's going to be touch and go whether I get my promotion. :minger:

though i was left out of MrB's list :p , Pettefershire CCC were playing today too. Bowled the oppo out for 76 and won by 10 wickets, meaning we stayed up in Div V in both forms of the game. spinners did the job again- Awan (3-3) and Cairns (4-7).

Ominious.

3 of the first 4 balls my no.1 bowler has bowled to their no.2 batsman have gone for 4.

Game over I feel.

Another 2 wickets, but that now means their main two batsmen are in.

Their next two guys are all-rounders with high experience who can see them home if one of these can stick in.

Good knock. Prag on his 2nd 1dayer hits a cracking 65no.

End of Over 50: 368-2, runrate=7.36
Brackenbridge 10-0-70-0
Sutherland* 93 (88 balls)
Prag 65 (52 balls)

Last Wicket: Murray lbw b. Maxfield 142 (FOW: 233/2)

They're currently

End of Over 8: 23-1, runrate=2.88, reqrunrate=8.24 (368-2)
Holroyd 4-2-6-1
Clare* 6 (23 balls)
Mclaughlin 12 (20 balls)

Last Wicket: Rennie c. Back b. Holroyd 4 (FOW: 8/1)

End of Over 13: 42-4, runrate=3.23, reqrunrate=8.84 (368-2)
Woodgate 2-0-8-2
Healy* 6 (10 balls)
Mosimotsana 4 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Chikosi lbw b. Woodgate 0 (FOW: 38/4)

Dobcross half way there with 6 wickets intact. Think you need tight bowling, another wicket and then a collapse mimicking your innings to get the win. How well would you fare back in II next season YB?

Not sure, my team hasn't progressed much this last year, whilst I expect the competition has.

I stacked my top order, MatSykes stacked his lower-middle order, so advantage is definitely with them as I can't see my team ripping through them like they did to me.

Is it not quite hard to progress over a season at the top due to a high level of skilled players? I guess though many sides still play some real trash players but have 5-6 superstars, although I say that blindly as I haven't checked out the top sides recently.

Sorry, who are you? :D

Well there are a couple of factors. First, there's the fitness hit if you train your first team. Second, my team is a bit older than most, as I figured out my training strategy before most teams did, so that my trainees improve less each week than younger trainees. Third, I didn't have the time to day-trade to build up my finances and so have been far less active than most in the transfer market (I've only signed 7 players in 7 seasons, two of which were fillers to play-in friendlies this season for a combined total of £5,000).

Game on now YB ! 15 off the next 3 could give it to you I reckon.

End of Over 37: 165-5, runrate=4.46, reqrunrate=4.54 (223-10)
Mcintosh 7-1-16-1
Brookfield* 62 (74 balls)
Wijesinghe 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Duggan lbw b. Mcintosh 81 (FOW: 165/5)

Nick is up surprisingly comfortably given the reporters summary:

Nineone ACC Whos your Daddy
Top Order: sensational exceptional
Middle Order: respectable superb
Lower Order: woeful woeful
Seam Bowling: remarkable exceptional
Spin Bowling: remarkable superb
Fielding: competent mediocre

Reckon he should do ok in III.

Not the ideal team to be dropping into Mrs BB's division!

Relegated.

Disappointing in that securing 5th spot should have been harder than winning my play-off.

I think I'm going to have to address the absence of a killer batsman.
