Welcome to Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI CG for the match between Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI and Dobcross.

We can tell you that Dobcross won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloud day.

End of Over 8: 43-1, runrate=5.38
Wijesinghe 4-0-17-1
Griffith* 24 (27 balls)
Pembridge 2 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Finnan c. Harris b. Wijesinghe 17 (FOW: 41/1)

----------------------------------

I really wanted to win the toss and bowl first on a green pitch with cloud cover. My batting lacks a star man needed to set a challenging total, and my best chance was to bowl them out cheaply and pick off the runs. The closest I've got to a star batsman was Finnan, who was dismissed early.

Dobcross look an excellent team, and are probably a fair bit stronger. They're quite reliant on their three all-rounders, but their 4th and 5th bowlers, one of my relative strengths this season, are probably better than my 4th and 5th bowlers. They are opening with probably their weakest bowler, Whittington, so I planned to try and get runs on the board early against him. I'll also want to make sure I get runs off Segkoma.

Nick is going steadily against his Level III opponent. He was pretty low in the promotion table so picked up a team finishing 5th, will be a good win if he can do it. All about these two though as his next best bat is only strong.

End of Over 12: 64-1, runrate=5.33
Beck 1-0-4-0
Field* 17 (24 balls)
Anderson 34 (33 balls)

Last Wicket: Oconnor c. Chapman b. Todd 10 (FOW: 20/1)

End of Over 19: 109-1, runrate=5.74
Sekgoma 3-1-13-0
Griffith* 70 (55 balls)
Pembridge 20 (42 balls)
Last Wicket: Finnan c. Harris b. Wijesinghe 17 (FOW: 41/1)

Trouble for Nick now, high pace but both Field and Anderson are gone. Problem for him is that he's on a dusty and up against 3 spinners by the looks of things.

End of Over 22: 136-3, runrate=6.18
Fourie 1-0-8-0
Wikus* 3 (13 balls)
Dyke 8 (6 balls)

Last Wicket: Field b. Macey 62 (FOW: 127/3)

End of Over 27: 189-1, runrate=7.00
Maxfield 7-0-47-0
Murray* 108 (76 balls)
Sutherland 17 (23 balls)

Last Wicket: Jefferson Run Out 57 (FOW: 146/1)

I'm playing quite a weak side by all accounts

:)

Murray's gone

End of Over 33: 233-2, runrate=7.06
Maxfield 10-0-64-1
Sutherland* 25 (38 balls)
Prag 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Murray lbw b. Maxfield 142 (FOW: 233/2)

Griffiths has got his century (and at a run a ball).

Need to accelerate but not lose wickets now. I'm not overly confident about 6 downwards holding up against Dobcross' bowling.

Think I might shade this one

End of Over 38: 271-2, runrate=7.13
Jennings 9-0-68-0
Prag* 15 (14 balls)
Sutherland 46 (54 balls)

Last Wicket: Murray lbw b. Maxfield 142 (FOW: 233/2)

According to Dobcross' manager on sledging, his opening bowlers were set to attacking, so you may be able to pick up a few runs from them in the last 10.

Got them out for 81, and going quite nicely, only lost Flood, who is up for sale too.

End of Over 11: 58-1, runrate=5.27, reqrunrate=0.64 (82-10)
Mcgregor 6-0-31-1
Bartlett* 35 (34 balls)
Drury 15 (13 balls)

Last Wicket: Flood c & b. Mcgregor 5 (FOW: 26/1)

End of Over 39: 178-4, runrate=4.56
Carlton 8-0-27-1
Keigher* 13 (18 balls)
Holt 1 (4 balls)
Last Wicket: Thomas c. Salam b. Carlton 1 (FOW: 176/4)

Thomas went early, so I think I'll be bowled out.

A lot depends on Keigher now.

****. Division 2 for me next season.

41.4 W Carlton to Ramsden
There is no sweeter sound in cricket than the sound of the bails clattering to the floor, so it's no wonder that Carlton is pleased. Bowled him!
41.3 W Carlton to Holt
Holt went walkabout there. Nice keeping.

End of Over 45: 210-8, runrate=4.67
Wijesinghe 8-0-36-3
Keigher* 36 (34 balls)
Daniels 2 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: Livingstone c. Thorn b. Wijesinghe 0 (FOW: 198/8)

Keigher doing a great job, another 15 runs could well be enough, although even now you've got something to bowl at

End of Over 46: 216-8, runrate=4.70
Whittington 8-0-54-0
Daniels* 2 (7 balls)
Keigher 42 (40 balls)

Last Wicket: Livingstone c. Thorn b. Wijesinghe 0 (FOW: 198/8)

Division 1

47.1 W Whittington to Keigher
I think everybody heard that nick to Thorn. Keigher didn't even wait around for the umpire to raise his finger.

End of Over 47: 222-8, runrate=4.72
Wijesinghe 9-0-42-3
Keigher* 47 (44 balls)
Daniels 3 (9 balls)

I think you're being a bit pessemistic. You've racked up 220 odd in good bowling conditions, he won't find it easy.
