Whilst I don't disagree that £12/£14 is too much for a friendly between two lower League sides, it is not remotely like "standing in a park". It is a Grade ‘A’ Conference stadium, with a 500 spectators seated stand and an overall capacity of over 4500 people.

Whoopee do !! I for one have no intention to attend. Friendlies, years ago were free or small change.Who wants to see about twenty players from each side given a run out.Not me. The only friendly I will attend is Great Wakering,for a fiver,the rest can go and swivel !!

It will be one of the first matches back for Michael Ricketts.

.....Remember who was Bolton's number2 when Ricketts got goals galore + intothe England team?
He recently had to do community service + is trying to make a comeback into football, and at 34 , he is younger than Neil Harris and said recently he had "unfinished business" at Southend.

Seem to remember playing Boreham Wood in the FA Cup many years ago (3-0). Lots of Arsenal supporters turned up and they 'took' the North Bank!

The fact that its a decent way from Southend as well may mean that not many fans make the trip. Also a mission from South London. May give this one a miss. As a previous poster said if it was against Borehamwood then it would have been more of an excuse to make the trip.

Boreham Wood in North Bank

The reason that they were in the North Bank was that the police put them in at one o clock.Bythe time that Southend Boys got to the ground they were to mob up . Also a lot of our main boys had gone to London to see London clubs play like they did then.Some of the Boreham mob werw still going on about how Southend had run Chelsea out of town 2 years before
