Boycott Home Games

It still doesn't give him the right to slag off the players of the team we support. Today was probably the most negative day at RH for ages. Just coz we've had a few glory nights in the cup last year or promotions in previous, doesn't mean it will continue. If you want a glory team, West London or Old Trafford is the place for you.

Well at least since Saturday 10th November , 2007

I could see him from where I was sitting aswell! Not difficult tho really.

I agree though, what does boycotting games do.....nothing. It just means that there is one less positive supporter at the game....errrrm, does that help the cause...dont think so.

Clearly if Mr Slim of South Upper is giving it large and unnecessary it clearly warrants a suitable chant from those positive supporters around him and not to boycott games.

I was at my sons football training this morning and one of the other teams coaches, training at the same time, was telling his players they were crap....and that he hadnt given up his morning to watch crap. So negativity towards players is not uncommon.

While we were all disappointed with that shocking first half display, you do wonder whether the level of abuse being reported by some around the south upper was justified. I couldnt here Mr Slim but I could see his actions did not suggest he was in a positive frame of mind.

You get peopl just like that at "close" away games too!! Its life, and football im affraid, dont let the team miss out on your support because of it

its official, as of this moment i am boycotting home games and will only attend away games. i have come to this conclusion as what i saw and heard in the south upper today was simply digraceful. leaning over the front of the stand and hearling abuse at the players is simply not acceptable. at least at away games i will be with people who actually SUPPORT the team, as what i saw today, that was no support. hope you few individuals are happy, home games are mainly full of people who dont want to be there, they only go because their ticket costs a quid or two, or are there because they have nothing better to do. at least at away games i will be with like minded people or adore this club and are loyal to them til the end, thank you and good night, good by Roots hall

your an utter fool!!! we don't need people like you who at the slightest sign on decent towards players runs a mile and refuses to go to home games! PATHETIC!!! its always going to happen in football just get behind the boys and all will come good in the end!

Chin up!

UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL

It wasn't just a minority today at the hall. I was also ashamed at some of the abuse that was being dished out.

Sadly these muppets are every where who think that they know everything about football, and because they have paid £20 they can vent there fury at the players to make them feel slightly better about their own sad little lives.

Don't boycott, just shout your support louder to drown out the numpties.

ASHAMED??!!! your a prize Tool aswell Craig for saying that! are you seriously saying you were happy going 2 goals down at home to the side that is bottom of the league!!!!

we came back though! why? because the abuse the players got showed to them the disgusting first half performance!

abusing players is not a good thing no but SOMETIMES its the only way to give them a kick up the ****!!!

ok, ok, ok, i have come to a conlusion

i will carry on supporting my boys in blue, home and away, land and sea, i am not going to let some stupid fat old man ruin my day because he is only there to slag the team off. This club mean the world to me and no one will ever change that. the club needs our support. i will not let anybody get in my way and stop me being where i love being the most, Roots Hall. I cannot really describe how much this club means to me, always have and always will. there is no where else in the world i world i would rather be than watching southend at roots hall. so come on, from now on, any hypicrits that get in my way, you are so badly in for it, because to be quite honest, i am fed up of you. come on the rest of you, get off the players backs and let's sing our way to the championship.

do as i do, when something goes wrong on the pitch, bit your bottom lip, dont say a word, clap the players and hope they do better next time and last of all sing your ****ing heart out!!!

Come on you blues!!!!!!

I do see where you're coming from here, and I do kind of agree with the last bit, but I would have to say that 'ashamed' is the right word here.

There's a whole world of difference between showing your disappointment/anoyance at the teams performance and the outright, over the top, abuse that some people in the stands seem to think is acceptable.

The team were sh1te 1st half and deserved most of what was dished out, but do we REALLY want the chap in the South Upper to become the face of our fans, and therefore known as a club that give ott abuse to our players when things don't go our way?

There's a fine line here, and it's right to say I'm ashamed that a significant minority of our fans overstepped it.

regarding this, in the south upper yesterday shortly after the 2nd went in for them a bloke went pyscho. then when an older lady steward come up to him and asked him to sit down as he was in the front row he started to hurl abuse at her and got right in her face. she simply told him to sit down. poor lady seemed very shook up. the guy stormed off and didn't see him again after that. this sort of behavour towards an older lady is simply disgusting. felt really sorry for her and it was nice for people to stick up for her who were near.

Illustrates the point I was making about being ashamed of some of our fans.

I am ashamed that people who behave like that support the same club as me.

the bloke in south upper has nothing on the cheltenham fan pictured on SZ highlights right at the end after their chance when at 2-2. What they had lacking in numbers they made up for in...........
