its official, as of this moment i am boycotting home games and will only attend away games. i have come to this conclusion as what i saw and heard in the south upper today was simply digraceful. leaning over the front of the stand and hearling abuse at the players is simply not acceptable. at least at away games i will be with people who actually SUPPORT the team, as what i saw today, that was no support. hope you few individuals are happy, home games are mainly full of people who dont want to be there, they only go because their ticket costs a quid or two, or are there because they have nothing better to do. at least at away games i will be with like minded people or adore this club and are loyal to them til the end, thank you and good night, good by Roots hall

12 years, i have only been alive for 15 so its a bit difficult before my 3rd birthday

There are always going to be people who slate the team and havent really got a clue, but that is part of the club. Just going to away games doesnt make you anymore of a supporter. I would love to go to all away games but dont have the time money and incedentally the last away game i went to the atmosphere wasnt amazing and there were just as many if not more idiots there. The only people losing out if you dont go to home games are you and the club

If you were stting next to me at the Northampton game you would of seen the Mitchell brothers giving Mark Gower Stick from the off so the away game only threat dont hold water but as a Jonny come lately to the Southend Scene i find the abuse some players get at Roots hall a bit over the top infact ive seen people hauled out their seats at Chelsea for doing a lot less.

No offence but it seems a bit of lame reason to stop going, because a handfull out of the 7 or 8 thousand that were there were having a go at a few players. Why not try another section? I started going to Roots Hall about 30 years ago (slightly less than I would like in the past few)I have travelled home and away through the fun times in the eighties and nineties, in my time I have heard and seen racist,physical and verbal abuse at pretty much every game I have been to,obviously not all at the same time.Didn't stop me going the next week.Why?Because I LOVE SOUTHEND UNITED and the actions of the few will never make that love waiver in my heart.Stop moaning and get yer **** back to the Hall.

Spot on. Blues Lady has a point, but staying away won't do any good either. Add you voice in praise will go some way to cancelling out the whiners!

Yes we were appalling first half. Yes Ginge is sh!t. Yes Maher is even worse than Ginge. Yes we lacked passion in the first half & Yes we're all meant to be supporting the team in blue today, not slagging them off. The same people who were slagging the team off in the first half were amongst those cheering the goals.

If you can't say anything worthwhile, say nothing.

It wasn't just a minority today at the hall. I was also ashamed at some of the abuse that was being dished out.

Sadly these muppets are every where who think that they know everything about football, and because they have paid £20 they can vent there fury at the players to make them feel slightly better about their own sad little lives.

Don't boycott, just shout your support louder to drown out the numpties.

It still doesn't give him the right to slag off the players of the team we support. Today was probably the most negative day at RH for ages. Just coz we've had a few glory nights in the cup last year or promotions in previous, doesn't mean it will continue. If you want a glory team, West London or Old Trafford is the place for you.
