Boris - Good or Bad

He has fallen out with sections of the party over his reluctance to employ 15 members of staff at the taxpayers expense apparently

http://m.huffpost.com/uk/news/douglas-carswell/

Quite right to. He is the only one with any parliamentary experience and knows how many staff he needs and I would imagine who he wants. I'm beginning to think that perhaps UKIP aren't quite the breath of fresh air I thought they were. This seems a little too dictational for my liking.

He owes me £30 too. I went to Thanet purely because backing votes against him was on the promise that he would quit as leader, I want my train fare back the lying ****.

You spent 30 sovs of your own cash, then travelled to Thanet, then spent the day haranguing people on their doorstep.

Party time:winking:

I just leafleted, I don't know the area and you need local knowledge to canvass.
I spent 90 sovs of my own cash getting to Morecambe to see Southend lose - it's what people do when they are interested in something, invest time money and effort on a chance.

The party seems to be taking the same stance as they do with the EU - take as much cash as you can for the party.

Back on topic though - Boz has come out today threatening a congestion charge around Heathrow if it gets an expansion. He says he doesn't want to do that but will because...the rest is a bit wishy washy but seems to be still sulking that Boris Island got kicked into touch. Is he ever going to let that drop or will he continue to throw our money at it despite it being rejected many times before.

The Boris Island thing is definitely a factor, but he has been a steadfast opponent of Heathrow expansion for a while and now he is MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (which, having lived there, is close enough to have the benefits of Heathrow but doesn't suffer from much of the noise pollution) he *has* to continue to oppose it.
