Echo News Blues boss Maher provides fitness update on trio of defenders

I hope Ralph is back. I think he's very underrated by a few on here. Goodliffe is like Crowther. Fine when it's an aerial battle, but not so good when fast, and tricky players are running at them. That's what makes Golding so good. For the most part, he can defend against all types, in the air, or on the ground, let alone the coming out of defence with the ball, and the extra goal threat. Let's hope the medical staff can do their magic, and get him back soon.
I hope you are right, trouble is Groins can be dodgy, depending on the strain, type of damage ,and take a while to heal, mostly rest, unless an op is needed. ( Ive been there ) , so hope its not weeks and just a slight strain

Tbh we have to give faith in the backup players we have, those that come in and do a job, rather that than injured lads playing through and making themselves worse. Rather see fit and raring lads in the team too, keep off their back and hope they improve. Just my opinion, dont know what others think but as much as i recognise the strengths of James and Nathan i'd rather have them back to full fitness. Cant be carrying anybody is my view.

Ultrasound diagnostics can be very effective these days, dont know if we could have or access that facility in time.
Some people have the diagnostics to pinpoint a pain relieving injection in the Groin or hip area !

Ouch !! Doesnt seem a good idea but neither is significant groin pain!

"The use of local anaesthetic painkilling injections in professional football can counter the performance-reducing impact of injury and lower the rate of players missing matches through injury."

Wonder if this goes on much?

I would argue that Ralph is our best defender; very consistent and rarely has a bad game.

Which is why I always argue about him playing LWB, as he is better further back. Probably ok as a standard LB though.

I remember the story of Sir Alex Ferguson telling the players that although in pain, Roy Keane has agreed to play the 2nd half if they give him a Cortisone Injection. David Beckham piped up, and said that he would play the 2nd half if they gave him a car as well.
