Amazing 👏👏👏 I was in the West S block and all game I could hear (and see) the fans in the North getting the stadium rocking. Great to see the flag waving, the jumping and the North Bank roar back once again. First Class!!! A huge thank you to all involved I’m absolutely sure that the support added to the players performance on the pitch and helped them over the line.

It was a great day to be a Shrimper 🦐
Same here. I'm in S block as well, right at the back. The noise all game emanating from the North Bank was loud and didn't stop for most of the game. Well done everyone who made the effort to get involved.

What we need now is an 'old timer' to get among the youngsters and resurrect some of the old songs we used to sing in there.

I can remember hearing coming from a pub in Gillingham in April 72 'We are the old North Bank , We are the old North Bank , We are the old North Bank , We are the old North Bank . Looking through the window a certain Southend Legend was sitting on a bar stool surrounded by his crew all singing .

Problem would be that most of those old songs from the late 60's early 70's would seem too old fashioned for today's youngsters?.
E.G. a rendition of the old 'Hello hello hello hello we are the Southend boys ( repeat again )
And if you are a ?????? fan, surrender or you're die
We all follow United!.
Could just imagine the looks on 'singers' faces if that was belted out!.

They could sing ''GIVE US AN S'' ......''S''... ''S'',all the way to, ''WHAT HAVE YOU GOT''? ...''SOUTHEND'', Clap, clap, clap, ''SOUTHEND''. That used to go down well in the North Bank. Also, ''WE ARE BLUE, WE ARE WHITE, WE ARE FFING DYNAMITE, LA, LA, LA, LA, LA, LA ,LA ,LA LA. And of course, ''OH I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASIDE'', Lol.

The first one was chanted three times v Oldham. Very much alive..

For what it's worth, sitting in the ace, the fans seem to be twice as loud. This even got the east stand chanting much more. It was a fantastic effort by everyone in the north, best atmosphere I can remember for a couple of years at least. I know people may prefer the west but believe me sometimes it is quite hard to even hear from the East Stand so I really hope the choice has made to stay in the north.

I remember , Leigh Com We Kill We Conquer .

The atmosphere against Oldham proved that standing in North bank is better, although there is no reason why fans can stand in West block and North Bank like against Oldham.

I reckon the best solution is to home TBV and the main singing contingent in the north but also allow standing in W for those who still wish to participate with TBV but don’t want to leave their comfy seat in the West. I don’t see why with a decent run of results, just like the Oldham game, why both won’t sell out and pass the atmosphere along the west.

I have a 12 year old son that I took to the Oldham game. He has previously not been into football (probably as every game I have taken him to we have lost)...He however really enjoyed Friday and asked if we could move to the North bank for Solihull game as he was impressed with singing/chanting!!
Friday?!!

Start singing the old songs and too many people would take offence 😂😂
