Breaking News Blair extends deal

I can't believe the amount of stick this guy gets for no other reason than his Dad is manager... :raspberry:He has hardly put a foot wrong since he has been here and by the sound of things, he has been more than serviceable in the limmited game time this season... With an attitude like his, I'd be happy to have a few more like him... a player who give a 100% desipte the continuous abuse... Well done Blair glad your still with us:Worthy:

This is nothing to do with being the Manager's son. 18 months on from when he arrived we have better players and higher ambitions. He doesn't have a lot to contribute in those areas. If you are situated in Aus then you won't have seen this and are perhaps not in a position to comment. Don't get on the Father/Son bandwagon, it's about the improvement in the quality of our squad.

Although credit must go to Paul Sturrock for doing a decent job so far, his blatant nepotism regarding his son really lets him down. When he eventually leaves this club (if he ever does!) it will be interesting to see at what level he plays at. This will prove how good he is. No other league manager employs him, are they all wrong????

Lol... No probs; as I obviously need to agree with you about my disadvantage of not being able to see Blair's (or any other :'() contribution live. Though I listen to most matches (regularly sitting listening at 2.00am alone with my southend shirt on:dim:) and highlights, etc and while that might not put me in the complete picture, it doesn't make me a complete ignoramus... Though I wouldn't be the first on here to have no idea what I am talking about:winking:
Because of distance and lack of real hands on knowledge I only joined shrimperzone last year despite being a voyeur for years: which I still largely am. Anyway I realized most of the responses here are as limited as mine, so I thought I might as well join
But my comment about being the managers son is the issue for some, as this is what is and has been consistently raised and that is what I am responding to (which is easy to prove just from a few comments here, but especially a trawl through Blair related discussions in the past; which I have also contributed to and it does seem that some others agree with me)... But from my somewhat limited and distant opinion (which I would like to say is as a fairly fanatical supporter of the mighty blues:loyalsupporter:: despite my convict heritage), he does add value to the squad IMO (which is what this site is about). As to quality, recycled lower league players have always been about one teams trash being another teams treasure! It has also been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Alos Paterson aswell, I think the likes of Pato, Asante will most definately be going. As for Crawford Id imagine he will be off when he recovers from op as we cant release him whilst recovering

Sampson, Harris, Benyon, Dickinson, Blair, Corr, Crawford, Asante. Someone is clearly on their way!

This is a forum and everybody has a right to comment as long as it stays within site rules. There are a number of us exiles who have been fans for decades and have seen more than our fair share of matches before circumstances meant a move away to distant lands.

Please don't dismiss our comments because we can't make it to games anymore.

Well said s4e. Lol. It's a pity you are unable to behold it and you may have a different view, or not!
Some people you will have seen over-use the cliche ' he always gives 100pc ' .Well another one is 'you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear '. If a sow's ear gives 100pc it's still a sow's ear!

It's good to have you following the shrimpers from your wonderful country.
