Question Billy Paynter

A boring day job ;)

Thank you to all that have posted.

I think Leeds fans are hoping he is being brought in as cover for Luciano in the foil role. The big worry is that Ken will view him as a direct replacement for Beckford. I've only seen him a few times but i would rather him to Kandol

Have you heard the very funny rumour that you are in for Christophe and Moussa?

I always like Paynter and it was disgusting how he was forced out. Me and my mate were quite excited when we signed him, as we remember him pretty much destroying us vs Bradford the season before.

Anyways, looks like Leeds are on the bargain hunt? With the rumoured (and highly unlikely) low price swoop for Moussa and JFC and now a free transfer for Paynter.

You guys got no dough?!

Port Vale I think you mean....

Anyways, I read on the BBC gossip column that Leeds where putting together a £1million bid for someone (name espaces me at the minute).

I hadn't. I would seriously doubt it if it involves money. We are shopping for frees this summer, although i'm hoping we spend some money on a decent striker (Hooper). We are being linked with a silly amount of midfielders and free transfers, were supposed to be close to welcoming Paynter, John Eustace, Nick Montogomery and Paul Connolly to Elland Road within the next few days.

Ken wants to do things on the cheap, he said recently he aspires to be like Burnley. Nobody aspires to be Burnley, not even Baghdad

Take no notice of any rumour involving us, Leeds are often used in the summer by agents to try and gain interest in their player.

Just signed a new deal at Sheff Utd today.

Moussa's contract runs out, but he is under 24. Christophe would be quite cheap. Both of them for £250k + 25% sell-on .... can't say fairer than that ;)

For me from what I saw when he was with us he looked a good player, useful for sure. I remember [hopefully correctly] that he scored a good offside goal and hit the bar in one of our games, if only one of those had gone in and counted maybe he would have stayed with us. Probably not though, as the boo boys were intent on not allowing him to stay. Idiocy, it really was.

Might be a decent squad player for you though, but if I was him I wouldn't go as I can't see him starting too many games for you.

Considering you were one of his critics at the time, I find this post rather ironic.

A bit harsh on young Fred, Class . It's the inalienable right of all free-born Southend fans to change their mind about a player as soon as that player leaves the club.

I don't remember that myself, but even if true I definitely never boo'd the lad and was gutted when his goal was ruled out for offside and his shot hit the bar, I really wanted the lad to succeed. Was he God's gift to football? No, but he had a good ability for the level we were at at the time.
