i'd imagine everyone who can go will so would those who are there really be feeling mugged off at those of us who can't go potentially watching on a screen?

Agreed.

I take 'JamMan's point, but I don't think screening it would make any difference to those who want to be at the match and waiting until the tickets are sold would probably make the logistics of screening it nearly impossible anyway.

If having a match live on TV reduced potential crowds that much, there wouldn't have been a full house at The Emirates on Sunday, for example and how many people didn't go to the JPT Final, because they could watch it on the TV.

People will always prefer to be there, if they can, I think.

On the day, staff need to be in place for the bars, catering, turnstiles and so on, plus getting the screen in place checked over and wired up and so on, including advertising the day itself.

I think they'd have to make a decision pretty much today or tomorrow at the latest.

"Carpe Diem!"

The slight problem with that is Arsenal have a slightly larger fan base than us, they sell out league cup games where they play their reserves.

For us to take 2000 anywhere its 30% of our gate.

The JPT is again different as lots of people went for the experience of going to Wembley, Morecambe not so attractive.

I do think that even if we put the screen out there before the tickets were sold we would still sell out, but it would certainly affect some peoples decision and if it did mean we didnt sell out that would be an issue.

To be honest even if they streamed the BBC Essex commentary into the ground over the speakers I would go. May as well all be in 1 place as opposed to glued to the radio at home

Wouldn't it be better to just lay on free coaches to actually be at the game?

Free coaches only work if there is a large number of tickets available to us. That's not the case with Morecambe.......now IF we get to the play offs and get Plymouth........

Fair points and I agree.

I think my main point was that people who intend to go to Morecambe will go anyway and I would be surprised if people who have purchased tickets wished they hadn't because it could be live at Roots Hall.

The main issue is timescales. If we wait until all tickets are sold, then there won't be time to get the screen organized, I would think.

Just a thought that maybe if some tickets are unsold, we could compensate Morecambe FC from the profits of showing the game at Roots Hall.

The other issue with this beyond cost is getting the screen. We had to borrow Everton's screen last time and get it shipped to Essex.

Long shot but anyone think there will be a dodgy stream somewhere on the world wide web?

Sadly not, has to be broadcast to someone for that to happen.

They were looking into the logistics well before tickets were sold out. What they couldnt do is publicise it and sell tickets for it, prior to that happening.

So do we know if this is going to happen or when it can be announced?

I would attend this also! Better than standing in my garage drinking my six-year-old homebrew as it's the only radio in the house!
