You are absolutely right, Kris. Banter is one thing, and makes this board the place it is. But plain abuse is out of order, it is silly, unimaginative and tedious. If they want to bandy pure abuse, surely the Rivals board is the place to do it.

Since when did we hold hands with Col******r supporters and skip down the road?! come on people this makes us look pathetic if we can't even have a firm rivalry!

I just don't see the point of being abusive for the sake of it. Read C&P's first post again - it was a friendly one wishing us good luck for the season. So why the need for such aggressive and insulting responses? There's no harm in a bit of banter but calling someone an inbred c*** just because he had the audacity to post on a Southend board is pathetic.

I often post on the Orient board but despite most of its members hating Southend with a vengeance they've always made me feel welcome there. I don't see why we can't be similarly civil towards Col U fans if they're being friendly themselves.
