Best Southend XI ever - Left Back

Hi
New to the Zone, been reading for ages but saw this post and felt one player from the seventies deserved a mention although not in cp's league still one of the best we have had
Andy Ford

PS thanks Cricko for sorting reg out

I reckon we've got 10

Hammell
Edinburgh
Yates
Powell
Johnson
Anderson
Searle
Barness
Mulgrew
Ford

Wasn't Edinburgh a right back though? As were Hyslop and McSweeney

Edinburgh was a left back, as was (in so far as his lack of ability permitted) Hyslop....Mcsweeney was a right back / centre back but played left back sometimes when we had managers who didnt have a clue.

Good call for Andy Ford I had forgotten him, he was a decent non league manager at Gravesend IIRC.

Actually have to work for a living today so will go with that 10 in a quick poll. I trust it's accurate as haven't time to go through and check.

Cross - can't recall his first name - must get a nomination simply for breaking Bellamy's leg in a pre season friendly.

Didn't Pennyfather sometimes play left back as well?????
