It's true. Most Brits who come over here do go back because they've not made proper preparations, not done proper research, not spent time identifying a key niche for employment (they think they can come over and become a builder or a window cleaner; lack of foresight). That's great because it leaves a greater slice of the market for those of us who have done all the hard work and research! Less Brits means more for us lot. Nothing would drag me back to Britain, nothing. I love where I live. I love the 320 days of sunshine, I love the average annual temperature of 18°c, I love the lifestyle (and steer clear of the Brit bars).

Well I'm glad your happy. After a week there I'm always ready to get home, but we're all different. Apart from the sunshine I don't see much about the place. Let's call it quits now. Up the Blues!

well i could only get a seat in the south lower today and at times you could hear a pin drop so to speak. Baggies fans did come across as the loudest but isnt that always the case.. for the away support is a more concentrated vocal wave all sining in unison ...like we were at spurs and cov

Quote[/b] (Xàbia Shrimper @ Jan. 01 2007,19:35)]I have to say that I didn't hear much singing from the home side whilst listening to the online commentary, especially in the second-half. Mostly West Brom ...
Lets be honest
Mike the Southend singing mostly comes from the North West side of Root Hall...a very along way from the commentary box... I also listen to some of the West Brom commentary (very Boring I must add) over the internet and the crowd noise was a lot quieter than the Southend commentary (BBC ESSEX)... All I can say our lot (BBC ESSEX) must of being sitting by the entrance and had the door open.......

WELL DONE SOUTHEND UNITED FC

Certainly wasnt loud where I was in the East stand blacks,it was one of the quietest games so far, surprising bearing in mind we were 3-0 up.

Apart from cheaper food, cheaper drink, lower taxes, cheaper road fund, better health service (far better), better social security, no binge drinkers (except when the Brits come over on the holidays but we steer clear of their bars anyway), lower crime, better education, better social integration, better life-style ...

Certainly Spanish Universities do not compare to the UK. Even with all the other so called benefits, if it wasn't for the sun most people would walk.

Well, as I said good luck to you. When are you getting your next cheap flight home for a Blues game? I expect you to be singing louder than all the away fans put together!

Lets face it we haven't been 'loud' all season (except Man U) Part of the reason could be that with the 45% increase in season card holders a hell of a lot of them could be new to the game and as such are perhaps a little backward in coming forward with the vocal support.

I'm located in the South Upper directly behind the goal and from that vantage point I would say the loudest singing usually comes from the North West corner. I think the East Stand must be virtually made up of corpses because rarely do you hear them in full voice, except the North corner when there is a full away support and the barracking and hands gestures come to the fore.

I think to a certain extent Mike may have a point about what it sounds like on t'internet or radio as wherever you happen to sit the majority of other peoples singing from other stands is going to be drowned out by the singing of those around you and thus gives a slightly false perspective on things.

I think we have two problems: firstly the acoustics at Roots Hall are sh!t. We do sing in the East stand and to us its loud, but the noise doesn't travel. Secondly, all the fans that do sing are dotted in different sections of the ground. This is why we always seem better away. More hardcore fans together, and better acoustics. Hopefully with the new ground we can get this sorted.

No plans to visit the UK in the near future, I'm afraid. But, believe me, I cheer as loud as anyone at Roots Hall on matchday and I'm proud to be ... a SPANISH SHRIMPER!!

He he - don't forget your new brothers tried to convert us in the 16th century to RC and we sent them packing. You've gone of your own accord! Do you love the Pope now instead of our Queen?

It is a problem which was highlighted at Covetnry. The had a bunch of singers behind the goal, some opposite the tunnel and some near us which in a half empty ground didnt sound very good at all.

Not sure how they are going to address this problem at the new stadium, maybe make a section available to singers only, although I dont know how you can administer it.

Arsenal have a section opposite the away end that was publicised as "Red Action" area for those who wanted to sing and help build atmosphere.

Thats all SUFC need do...

I've got it. We should have an X factor type competition where you audition for a seat. Hardcore singers next to the away fans. Early eliminatees would be put further away. Mutes to act as ball boys and stewards.
