Best place to sit at the hall?

I sat in the family stand last year, didn't like it. Moved to South Upper this year, much better view, but don't like the atmosphere too much. Oh yeh and there's this guy who goes absolutely mental once in every three games or so.

I think I know the guy you are talking about f-holm,does he sit South Upper near the West Stand ? .Now if only he sat nearer the middle he would soon be put in his place by H-Block right behind the Goal .There are these four guys who were giving JCR plenty of stick for a few games and got a little aggresive and were soundly put in their place and told to get behind the players in no uncertain terms ,quiet as mice now and peace has been restored to the South Upper ,was very funny when JCR scored his second Goal and they got more abuse .They've taken all the stick in the right manner tho so hats off to them .

i sit south lower the atmosphere is terrible no one sings just a load of gloryhunters i believe and a load of kids about 6 years old who dont even watch the football view aint bad though the best place to sit is the west stand near the north bank for atmosphere

would move there but have to join back of the queue for season tikets if i want to move places said the tiket office

Im in East Greens great view poor atmosphere , complete opposite to West stand which has a great traditional footy atmosphere but last time i sat there v. Gills last season i counted 14 pillars in my line of vision, that is crap .

I am in the RBS.

Not so good as it was earlier in the season as the noisy bod from the back whoever it was (I suspect a poster on here) and who got the chants going seems to have either gone mute, defected to Col Ewe or possibly from some recognisable tones on Saturday ended up in the South Upper.

His standard war cry being:

err err err,
err err err,
err err err, err err err, err err err,
err err err, err err err eh err
err err err err err err err
Southend!

I do hope I have not infringed any copyright by printing this chart topper.

I recall him even walking down the gangway steps last season shouting encouragement to all. He is probably less mobile now. I suspect old age, infirmity, loss of legs, cold weather and being bottom of the league.

Come back wake up whoever you are, and what better but to start again to bring back your glory days with your wall of tuneful sound this Saturday in the FA Cup. I look forward to it and standing up from towards the front of the RBS to applaud your reincarnation at 3:01pm.

Spot on that man....

Totally unspolit view, next to pitch and ideal to abuse away players taking/defending corners.

And don't forget the linesman....

I don't think I'd swap my season ticket seat for any other in the ground.
Ditto. I'm a STH for the first time this season and it's a great feeling you know you're guaranteed a great seat every game. I spent most of last season in the South Upper too but had to make do with the West Stand for the last three home games due to the demand for tickets, and I hated it. Awful view and constant moaning from fans around me.

South Upper is definitely my favourite stand. The view, from the middle three blocks at least, is great, and being high up yet close to the pitch gives you the ideal opportunity to check the players' movement and monitor how the game is being played tactically, which I like to do.

Yeah, that was really funny. I sit pretty close to the guy who was giving JCR all that abuse (during the Wolves game, I think) and when JCR banged in his second on New Year's Day, someone from Block H stood up and yelled in our direction, and in mocking fashion, "You're sh!t, JCR! Where are you now then?".

You should have seen the look on his target's face - it reminded me of the sheepish expression on my mum's cat's face when she stretched her claws a little too far for the dog's liking, who showed his teeth to her in menacing fashion.

To be fair to the guy who originally abused JCR, he has indeed been much quieter since he was first shot down by the lads from Block H, and on the whole the atmosphere in the stand has been very positive.
