Question Best Part of a Song

Aberdeen Shrimper

The Man who sold the world
There are some great songs and some truly spectacular songs...........but what about parts of a song, what is your favourite part of a song?

There are many classics like the drumming bit in Phill Collins "In the Air Tonight" Dire Straights and "Private investigations" just before the base as you hear the footsteps.

My particular favourite at the moment is Elbow "One day Like this" as it slows down...........linky thing below, at 2:30 is the best bit for me, and that cheeky smile by that sexy little blonde minx does it for me as well!!

the bit in dirty ol man by faithless as the bass kicks in
probably better to listen on proper speakers

cant find a link its on spotify

The saxophone solo in Hazel O'Connor's Will You or the build up bit in Heaven 17's Temptation, where the vocals build up to Carol Kenyon's high pitched Temptation!

hmm actually my favourite part of that is probably the first line. big Elbow fan and thinking about having this song in our wedding. but in general my favourite parts are usually the loudest.

Best to play that one rather than their other big hit.......well not until after you are married anyway!!!

Hints & Tips – Link to a specific track time

Here’s a little feature that you may not know about. You can link directly to a specific time in a track by adding, for example “#1:31″ to the end of a URI, where 1:31 is the time you want to link to. Just a note that this feature only works with Spotify URIs, HTTP links do not support it.

Here’s a full example, spotify:track:2QO8cnnFW6khDuAuUAySeV#3:04 will link to what I think is the best part of this song.

So if you’ve ever wanted to send your friend a track so he could hear only the great guitar riff or fabulous chorus, now you can.

The Saxaphone intro in 'Careless Whisper' is sexy

The Piano intro, with the rain and thunder in the background in 'Set you free' is awesome.

The Bridge to the last lot of chorus in Muse - 'Knights of Cydonia'

The Pause before and the breakdown in 'Insomnia' is timeless.

Foo Fighters - 'Monkey Wrench' - the 'One last bit before... etc' bit where he doesnt breathe for ages is some good effort too!
