Best of luck folks!

Yeah all the best to Col U...look forward to following your second relegation fight in a row, I hope you stay up though, I always enjoy derby games and this season we have the added bonus of actually being able to get a ticket to your ground now that you're playing at the Meccano Stadium.

In all fairness derby games against you lot are always good, it's an essex thing. Something that those scummers from Orient wouldn't understand.

Another season begins full of the normal hopes and dreams eh, I feel a good season is in store for both of our clubs, I am glad Tilson has pulled in a few new players for you, Kevin Betsy could be a very good player in this league.

Cheers.

Chris.

Thanks. While I have no issue with you personally as you seem anything but representative of your club (in a good way), I look forward to:

a) If you get on top - every halfwit with access to the village computer showing up to share their illiterate ramblings

or

b) If we get on top - the Ipswich treatment, i.e. suddenly becoming 'they who must not be mentioned' while your lot seek out some random club 100 miles away in Bucks to share their delightful company.

Great posts lads nothing less than I expected, I was in Coventry the last 3 days visiting my son, the locals dont seem too impressed with Eastwood, time will tell on that one. We watched SSN and had to endure the Stelling treatment for our diabolical 1st result of the season, I honestly did not expect to concede 4 goals up there, but did not expect anything better than a point either. Great result for you lot, I would have thought that would have been a banker home draw but hey what do I know.

Me and the chaps had a Polo game in colchester the other week.
I have to say, it was awfully difficult working out which were the horses and which were the players, as they were all so hidiously mutated.

Still, I almost feel sorry for them. I guess the secret genetic experiments carried out in Norfolk and Suffolk in the 60's must have spread into north essex.

Aye heard the same - :thump:

Freddy Eastwood - Amazing. Didn't have the best game, but still amazing. You can tell he'll net. Always looking for it, always wanting it. Never gave the ball away, never looked greedy, always looking for his team mates. Will definitely be a handful again this season.

Clint Eastwood? I'm excited. Eastwood went off on 70 but looked good...

Yours were off a messageboard and are probably correct, however mine was gained 1st hand from some of their lads after the game in a local pub.
Thats football though not everyone sees the same game, the ones I was speaking to were saying that in the main they were not impressed.

As we are going :offtopic: here - maybe this thread will soon get switched to ex-shrimpers or all leagues - what's the feeling about GRRRRRRaint ? - personally I hope he stays 'cos I don't want your lot coming in wafting big bucks under Tilly's nose once he's gone

There are a few locals who already have the knife out for the guy, personally I think he is a good manager, but maybe needs a better assistant than he has at present. I suspect Robbie Cowling will be desperate to do well this season so Geraint will only have a few weeks to show he can have a good season. Should we be struggling near the bottom of the table come say late October I think he may get the boot. Should he go I dont think Cowling would make a move for Tilson, he knows the fans would not be very happy about bringing in a guy who is Southend through and through. My guess would be a clean sweep of both manager and assistant, and then see who applies from there, I think Cowling would go for a tough talking no nonsense manager like Holloway, mad dog Allen, or even a return of Parky, at least the touchline antics would be entertaining!
