Always thought Che was pretty good myself.Though my favourite has to be Sandy Anderson.
Tony Bentley was a class act too.
I'm not asking who was the best left back, but best performance.
Steve Yates is probably my all time favourite left back, because I wan't coming to Roots Hall at the time Chrissy Powell was here.Steve Yates did ok against the European champions in 1979.

Why not Kay?
Ex husband, very anti me going and doing anything independently, he didn't like watching football so I felt obliged to fall in with his wishes. Madness, I know, which is why things are so much better now having a husband that I can share my love of SUFC with.
I am  I am also fortunate that my dad kept me in touch and took my son along at the first opportunity as without that I doubt I would have found my way back.Oh I see. That's nice and you are lucky

Tony Bentley & Graham Birks were two excellent full-backs who made over 100 appearances together. They both played in the amazing F.A.Cup run in 1968-69(Kings Lynn 9-0, Brentwood Town 10-1, Swindon Town 2-0 & Mansfield Town 1-2), they also played the same season in the record league cup win at Bournemouth 6-1 before losing to a last minute goal at Wolves. Bentley signed from Stoke played over 400 games scoring 17 goals before leaving for Folkestone, Tony now lives in Nova Scotia Canada. Birks signed from Peterborough played over 150 matches before moving to Chester,he scored only 1 goal which was on his debut against Mansfield on 8/1/66.Wasn,t Trevor Birks the left back and Tony B right back. However one of the Blues legends of that era ,such a solid fullback
