Roy mcDonough at one point held the league record for most sendings off, dont know how many of those were at Southend,but he could get an elbow into places nobody else even dreamed about.

Even more so when you are about 2' tall.

I think he should get an honourable mention.

In my time, has to be Leo Roget just cos no manager could control him but none could afford to not play him. Can't say we've had any players recently who only need look at you to scare the heeby-jeebies out of you though. I think it's very difficult being a genuine hardman in the modern game. Oddly enough, I was pleased to see teh Shearer/Whittle incident happen. Sort of proves there are still people who have that attitude still.
 
Without doubt has to be Steven Clark.


I never once saw him pull out of a challenge with an opposing player...............because I never once saw him go into a challenge with an opposing player!
