mine to stay the same please
Cant go to Carlisle so watching Sky Sports. Is Merson the best tv footy pundit? I like the way he doesnt try to speak differently just cos he is on TV.
i saw Paul Ince try it once and he was so false trying to pronounce all his aitches and T's, he was terrible.
So who is the best?

I totally agree with you!!! Merson is totally himself and he speaks his mind as well even if it means calling someone sh*te!!! Great player in his day too....

I quite like Steve Claridge when I've seen him on Sky, although I know that a lot of people hate him.

Surely ex-footballers are never gonna be the brightest???????

Not asking him to be Stephen Fry, just to formulate the odd sentence that makes sense. Or to recognise some of the players he is commentating on.

I mentioned it in a thread the other day, but I think Guillem Balague from Sky's Spanish football coverage is class. Of those listed above, Jamie Redknapp is much improved.

Agreed Uxbridge, about Redknapp. I also enjoy watching Merson and Le Tiss with Stelling and Hansen and Lineker on the Beeb, so no clear favourite for me.

Agree about Redknapp - he is also very easy on the eye...............

IMO most of them a cliche spouting cretins, who seem to revel in murdering the language. I agree that Jamie Redknapp seems to be improving, and I've always enjoyed listening to Ruud Gullit.

He's passed it to him and then he's taken a touch and then he's flicked it in front and then banged it.

No we don't like Merson much. He's like having a view of the action yourself but being sat in a restricted view seat.

Balague is very good as was/is Martinez. Stan's always impressed me by actually giving some insight to the game. Claridge's enthusiasm is nice to see

Who is Tillson?

Is that the former Bristol Rovers central defender?

Stan is the best pundit.

The likes of Graham Taylor, Ron the Racist Atkinson and David Pleat are also better (or at least not as bad) as any of the ones you list.

Hansen use to be good, but now can't be bothered. He also lacks any credibility when opining on Liverpool or England because of his unwillingness to slag off his golf partners.

Thats him, Andy Tillson. I was going to include Steve Tilson but, as i say, you know, I didnt.

Rubbish, rubbish and rubbish. Taylor and Pleat sit on the fence and Fat Ron is an idiot.

Collymore's very good indeed, I like him. I've also got a lot of time for Graham Taylor.

Bless little Jamie. He's like the dolly-bird on a gameshow, isn't he?

"Introducing, Andy Gray....and his glamourous assistant, Jamie!"
