Best Boozer to watch world cup games in..

SARF

Director
In Southend that is..?
I have watched one of the games in Saks.. Great for T.V.'s n getting served despite being rammed.. But pre match and half time its just too fking loud!!..
I havn't been in my nearest boozer the Trading Room , but that only has one T.v. up in the corner which is too small really..
Any other suggestions for this Saturdays game.. also I'm trying to avoid boozers full of ****ed up teenagers..

Was thinking the same thing myself...

Maybe the HogsHead or Varsity would be good?...

Churchills?

Yates's?

Churchills and Clarence Yard aboth really good, really chilled atmosphere but with a strong world Cup feel. Both quite busy and serve food with numerous televisions located

Unless you and your knucke dragging moronic mates are in there, shouting vildaloo and three lions at the top of your voices.

Anyone know if the Last Post is screening the england games?, or any of the other Wetherspoons around in Leigh, Rayleigh etc etc?

Not really a ticket, but its £5 entry... but thats Ok, you get a Hat!!

Seriously, Varsity is shocking for Football considering the TV's they have. They overpack it and it takes forever to get served, you can't see anything if you sit down and you need to get there 2 hours in advance to get a 1/2 decent seat. That on top of some of the f%&kwits that go there and throw arms aloft in celebration showering everyone with beer...

I'm sticking with The Spread Eagle, decent large pull down screen in one bar and a brand new plasma in the other.

Enough people for an atmosphere but not too many that you can't get served. Add a whopping great Southend United St George Cross hanging outside and loads of Shrimpers stuff inside and you can't go far wrong.

(Oh, and I can stumble home from there on auto-pilot after years of practice

Watched the last couple of games in Yates. It was surprisingly good actually. Loads of screens, £1.75 a drink and no real problem getting served. There seemed to be a fair few Shrimpers in there on sunday too.
