Best 3 away games ever !!!

Unless you are a repeat offender, that's not the one I'm talking about. I was referring to the game about 14 years ago, when Gary Jones scored the only goal and Mike Lapper broke his leg.

Oh right....

Well we had them this boxing day too - Not that it was that much of a memorable game.

:thump:

Bury 1-0

Say no more!

Swansea 2-2

Again say no more!

Macclesfield 2-1

Macca's injury time winner after being a goal down. I was convinced we were going up after that but we all know what happened!

1, Southampton away. Just an amazing atmosphere and made me proud to be a shrimper (although, the less said about the football the better)

2 Macclesfield, 0-0. My first away game with the stc, someone later mentioned a football match took place, but my memory is blurred.

3 Barnet 1-0 in the cup a few years ago. We completely took over the place, the terrace was more crammed than the london underground.

Have you ever seen us win away from home?

I too only started going to away games when we were in the second tier and it took me 27 games to see my first away win.

If I'm allowed a 4th vote, I might go for Carrow Road one snowy Boxing Day for the sheer novelty factor of it all. Jingle bells, jingle bells....

Erm.....yeah i seem to remember winning against Ipwich this year :)...that was a good game....another one would be Norwich this year as that was good fun in the cold :)

Was hoping to get to almost all of them, but now a chance at TCFA has my mind in a mess :( Blues or playing ?

Best away games as follows....

1.Swansea in L1 last season.Always wondered what it would be like to wait for news of other games to confirm our destiny. When the news of Brentford's(i think) failure to get all three points filtered into the stand i can remember standing in disbelief at first, then it all gets hazy although can recall just leaping for joy with my arms interlocked with all sorts of strangers,a fixed grin and shouting YES! continuously albeit with tears in my eyes.
Still get goosebumps talking about it.

2.Chesterfield again last season L1.Can remember studying league table and games to come and saying how badly a win is needed. But this was a 7goal thriller that gave me a humungous headache for the drive home.2nd half many Shrimpers calling for Bradders to come on for the Goat because he was having a stinker.Brads gets off bench to warm up,cross comes over and plonk in the onion bag it went off Shaun's head,i think everyone had a chuckle there. But the day belonged to Sir Fred.I think his free-kick turned out to be the winner but by Christ he ran the show that day.He had us jumping for joy on those old Saltergate concrete steps three times so much so i thought the crooked spire would lean some more and snap off. What a performance Fred and what a game.

3.Southampton this season Chumpionship.Never ever sung through 1 goal against my beloved team, let alone 2! Alan Ball tribute, balloons, tickertape,Spongebob Squarepants,The Mask,10yr old "Daffyd" complete with full pink leather cozzy and those pink boots, clapped back onto coaches by home fans, got stuffed by letting in 4 goals but having the cheek to go a goal up............
.......i could go on but let's just say the day was truly remarkable.

Cheltenham away, 2005? Eastwood 30 yarder.

Swansea away 2006, ****ed as a fart, unbelievable day.

Notts county away 2005, for those who were there would know.

quality trips!

Only started going to away games in the past few years, so:

Hartlepool United (FAC 1st Round Replay 2002) - We were hopeless for most of the game, then two goals in the last two minutes for Southend won the game and sparked bedlam in the away stand!

Bristol Rovers (LDV AF 1st Leg 2005) - Cracking game, we made a great start and should have been more than 1-0 up by the time they equalised. It looked like it was going to be all square for the RH leg but Gower scored a screamer with five minutes or so to go.

Chesterfield (League 2006) - What a game. I was breathless after this one - a great hat trick by Freddy as he earned us three points.

Stockport - My first taste of promotion and i was fortunate enough to fly with the team which made for a great atmosphere home with the players dancing and singing all the way from Manchester Airport. Even more surreal was walking through Southend Airport packed with Southend fans going mental.

Bury - Who put the ball the bury net. What a day and one that thankfully will stay with me forever.

Blackpool - Milstad for the LDV, Seeing the mighty Shrimpers walk out at a national final and to sing the National anthem as a Shrimper was truely emotional.

It was more interesting when you posted in pictures.:p

But therein lies the problem, J_S has admitted to being aquainted to this 16 year old boy, and knowing what those Orient types are like i really don't think he could post a picture without fear of the consequences should the boys father see it :D :D

Macclesfield (2003?)- from drinking DtS' dodgy beer to the Train Crew to singing on the terrace

Exeter away when they got relegated (2004?) - singing with Plymouth fans, finding the only pub nearby taking in anyone, to Scriven trying to lie on the luggage rack on the train back

and finally, Sheffield Wednesday away in the Cup (1993)- going on the unofficial coach with Scot Elliott and co, fish and chips on the way back, and refinding the pub we were in on the way back from Huddersfield. Great atmosphere at the game as well

Chesterfield away 2005 - Chesterfield 3-4 Freddy Eastwood. Freddy's best performance, he won that match single-handedly. A real game of 2 halves - dull 1st half, crazy rollercoaster of a 2nd half. Only about 500 of us there so one of those 'I was there' moments.

Swansea away 2005 - obvious.

Northampton away 2004 (I think) - 1-0 down then Barrett scores 2 late goals to give us a win. Great celebrations.

The new Hullbridge Sports first team coach is a 16 year-old Orient fan whom I'm acquainted with. How uninteresting.

Good,

Dad of DtS lives in Hullbridge...

Next I am over there we can go out on a father and son "Thump an Orient fan" bonding session.

:minger:

Macclesfield (2003?)- from drinking DtS' dodgy beer to the Train Crew to singing on the terrace

Now that was a top top day.....As trips with no end product go that one was excellent. And my 24 bottles of Fink Brau for £5 - What a bargin.

:fart:

Oooh, you bitch! :p :hilarious:

Carlisle 6-1 Orient
Donny 5-0 Orient
Bournemouth 5-0 Orient

All funny as **** to be honest. The type of away day that makes you as a fan.

To be honest, I'm a little worried that you'll have a genuine candidate for this list come 4:45 on August 11th. I can just see us losing that one....embarrassingly.

Dont do many away games, being a lightweight.

However of the few Ive done Millwall away in '93 (I think) was superb.

First league game at the New Den, I went with a mate who supports Millwall so sat with the Millwall fans. Total racist scum and it was the worst atmosphere I could imagine.

So when we beat them 4-1 with our black players they had been berating ripping them to pieces it was truly fantastic, even if I was too scared to celebrate!
