Berbatov

Gone to newcastle
Berbatov_375683a.jpg

Apparently Real Madrid have bid £36.5m.
Man City have done Spurs a huge favour by stirring it!

Also looks like the new owners have made offers for Gomez and Villa after he publicly admitted it. This will be a great day for City fans.

A new owner who CAN use his money, someone who doesn't hang around and maybe 3 class strikers.

God i hate United. If this is true, they'll spoil all the fun:

1718: "Berbatov's missus (who is well fit) has just told Bulgarian TV he wants to win the Champions League this season. This would seem to rule out City."
Al, Stockport, via text

And United then - do you know how hard that trophy is to retain?

1713: Fact time: Manchester United have been speaking to Dimitar Berbatov. Classic United, this. They'll agree terms, get him to sign a medical and then force Spurs to accept a lower bid for him as the clock ticks towards midnight. Allegedly.

1710: Ridiculous. Manchester City's prospective new owner Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim has revealed he has made bids for Valencia's David Villa and Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez. Can someone remind City they are not Real Madrid? Meanwhile, Madrid have not given up on Villa and appear to have entered the race for Berbatov. Best deadline day ever?

There is something wrong with the comment on 1713. Oh yes it says 'allegedly'.

I will be annoyed if Man U get Berba and if they do I hope rooney and fergie both kick his head in for his attitude.

Edit:
1735: Breaking news: BBC Sport can confirm that Real Madrid have not put in an offer for Dimitar Berbatov.

Rumour has it on SSN he is at the Manchester United training ground. Well at least he doesn't have to travel far from each club to talk who is going to pay the money grabber more money!

I think SSN are trying to put out every viable (and non-viable) story on this including contradicting themselves in the same breaking news bar. By doing htis they can definitely claim exclusive on any breaking news.

the one you missed out is that Spurs supposedly are claiming to have rejected Man Utd's bid and therefore not given them permission to speak to Berbatov. If Ferguson gets Berbatov, he's not going to care about a £13k fine, mind.

Berba still odds on to leave Spurs (link to gambling site)

Crazy City are not going for Robinho according to Marca Radio. Below is a translation from Marca front page via google translation.

The market for signings is burning in very few hours to close the period.
El Madrid ha vuelto a la carga para hacerse con los servicios de Villa, aunque el Valencia se niega a traspasaleo.
Madrid has the burden to gain the services of Villa, although Valencia refuses to traspasaleo.
Además, el Manchester City se ha unido a la puja por Robinho y el Madrid está intentando traspasarlo a este club inglés en lugar de al Chelsea.
In addition, Manchester City has joined the bidding for Robinho and Real Madrid is trying to selling it to the English club instead of at Chelsea.

Hope it comes of. The look on Scolari's and Kenyon's face would be priceless!

Apparently Spurs are going nuts. Alan Nixon (a journalist for The Mirror) posts on a Blackburn fan forum that a mate of mine goes on and this is his take on the situation:

"Man U hijacked him because they thought they could. Fergie played the part of Robert de Niro and was the taxi driver.

However Spurs are going pure mad mental...

Seriously, this could be the biggest row ever.

Trying to confirm something right now. But this one might run and run.

And after the Benjani fiasco, the Premier League may be under pressure to make sure the deadline isn't really the deadline.

Midnight, September 2 anyone? "

"It is a duplicate of what happened with Diego Forlan.

The Uruguayan flew in to London with Middlesbrough, thinking they had signed him in a coup.

Fergie sent an agent - a burly Scottish chap called George Urquhart, to nab him at the airport and take him to Man U.

Urquhart is also Sav's agent and looked like Shrek, grabbing Diego by the jacket and hustling him into a waiting car.

Man U? Don't you just love 'em.

Only thing is with this one....Tottenham don't see the funny side. "

If Man United want him, there's only one place Berbatov will be going...

City should really stop wasting their time and spend their new found fortunes on younger, more promising forwards.

Tottenham never see the funny side. Anyway. I'd love it if Man City got Berba and Robinho. Villa and/or Gomez would make it brilliant!

Well I'm very disappointed with Spurs behaviour. Where are their bollocks? If Sugar was still in charge, we'd see a different front page today.

Images of Berbatov taken at Old Trafford without permission, an offer after the dealine (so some reports are saying), a hard case for preosecution...

But they settled for £30.75 million and the loaning of one of United's most promising stars. Rubbish... Well, not for them admittedly. But I'm furious United will get away with this.

There really is no hope for football is there?

Does nobody seem concerned about the way our beautiful game is just turning into a plaything for the rich ? What is going to happen when they either get bored with it or SKY pulls the plug, which if the economy continues the way it is going is entirely possible. Luxuries go out of the window first and SKY is a luxury

I hate Spurs with a passion, but for me they seem to have done ok. The Suilker was never going to play for them. The have sold him and Keane for nearly 50 million quid. They have strengthened their defence with Corluka and if the russian forward works they have got a bargain.
I think Spurs fans should be please.

Arsenal fans not s pleased, but if Denilson can improve like Flamini did, then they wont have a problem.

Im concerned at the moment with the foreign investment turning clubs into play things....but the meltdown when they or Sky pulls the plug is something Id like to see.

In the current climate, if luxuries are the things to go and people stop buying into the commercial products of the top clubs, hopefully it will be players wages that are hit. People will always play football for the love of it so see no reason why wages of top players cannot be reduced....and anything that puts a stop to the overpaid ego's is fine by me. May feel sorry for some of the more die hard fans (such as Man City's) but big clubs going under through mismanagement would be quite funny.

I don't care if Spurs have been blackmailed into dropping their complaint, if the FA want to be taken at all seriously they need to investigate this and come down hard on Manure if what has been alleged is true - and the pictures make it a hard case to defend. I'm not talking a fine here, which they'd probably barely feel, I'm talking a 10 point deduction, though that would probably also require the Premier League's approval.

I know I'm probably the billionth person to say it, but after the Ronaldo saga this just defies belief. Who the **** do they think they are? And to top it all off they think they can buy their way out of facing punishment for it. Apparently football now mirrors the "justice" system in the USA where you get what you can afford.

The belief of some Manure fans that they can lecture the likes of Chelsea and Madrid from some kind of moral highground has always been laughable, but I'd love to hear them try to defend their club now.

Scum, end of.
