Should we sign Belford

Hard to disagree with Yorkies assessment in my eyes. Personally Daniels has to be number one priority. If we can't get him would consider Belford but wonder if he would be good enough for L1.

Daniels is out of contract at West Brom and I'd imagine will be trying to get himself first team football this summer.

I agree Daniels would be a great signing.

If we cant get him then Belford would be a very good signing.

Dont see Morris staying. Decent enough keeper but his confidence went and think he needs a new start.

Think if we are in league 1 it would be good to have 2 decent keepers fighting it out for the number one slot. Bury fans said that Belford cost them a lot of goals in League 1 despite being good for them in their promotion.
Had forgotten about Daniels, would certainly take him if we could.

Morris is out of contract this summer so we would need to sign a GK anyway. If a deal can be struck with Daniels then I'd have him like a shot, Belford is a very decent alternative though.

If we do go through to the playoffs, do we risk going into them with no reserve keeper on the bench ? As the saying goes you cannot win it in the first leg but you can certainly lose it.

Seems a big risk in such important matches.

Hang on, if one team loses it, then the other team wins it. But they can't win it in the first leg, so have they actually won? Where's the box, and where Schrodingers cat, and if a tree falls in a forest and there's no one there to hear it, does it makes a sound of one hand clapping. :dim:

Easiest poll ever, he is excellent.

Gives the back four so much confidence, Morris doesn't at all. I have open never rated Morris, which some thought harsh, but I think it's obvious why seeing the difference Belford makes.

Best keeper we have had since Federici. (not saying he is as good as Fed)

I'd like to see Daniel Bentley given more of a chance as back up than keeping Morris on, only ever see him in the pre-match warm up,but he makes some good saves,i know a game is different but if not someone else will take him.

Belford has done very well and would be happy with him , but voted 'unsure' as my preference would be for Daniels if we could get him.
Belford is a step up from Morris , but Daniels is IMO a class above.

Bentley travels to away games so he is gaining value experience being in and around the squad every game. I'd feel a lot more confident him understudying Belford next season as he's had more "on the job" training this, always taking part in warm ups (well, apart from when he was injured).

If we go up and could afford to have two senior keepers then yes. I still think Morris is a good keeper at this level who just had a little dodgy spell. Also bear in mind that Bury's current goalkeeper is only on loan to them from Sunderland so Bury may well want Belford back. I like him though, he's not had much to do the 3 times I've seen him but I've not seen him make a mistake yet and he seems like a good character too. Liked it when he replied to 'Belford do you hate Col U?' against Barnet.

We only need one senior keeper. In the current financial climate it's madness to carry the wages of two senior pro's for one position. The youth keeper is sub keeper and can cover the odd game, but any long term, injury or loss of form is easily resolved by taking advantage of the loan system.

I like him, but ther are lots of good keepers out ther, its not Morris vs Belford vs Daniels. Who is to say that thre isn't someone else out there who is going to turn out to be better than all of the above - we just don't know it yet

The fact that hardly anyone is talking about his height is a positive as it shows that he has adapted his game to deal with his size limitations

Plus we'll actually have two young keepers on the books next year as Dan Bentley has another year on his contract and Luke Chambers has been offered a two year deal. I don't think we need four keepers.
