BBC Extend Their Coverage

I finally got round to seeing this last night (it's been a very busy week!! :obl:).

I still firmly believe they will make the effort to give a fair showing to all seven of their teams. The first show did give most preference obviously to the one match involving two of the teams from the region and then to the two other home teams. I suppose that's understandable as they won't want to send a camera team and a reporter all the way up to Huddersfield when they've got games much closer to home they can focus on.

So I would expect more of a feature on us when we are playing at home. Not necessarily every game at home, but they will get down to the Hall. We will surely get more coverage this week, particularly as Ipswich were in the FA Cup, to which the BBC doesn't have the rights.

All three of our away games in February are against the other three League 1 teams in the region, so we will get some coverage there. Although I'm not sure if they'll have time to do anything on the Colchester game, which is live on Sky on the same night as Late Kick Off goes out.

With analogue you may be able to retune your telly to pick up the right broadcast.

Nerd alert: I used to retune my portable so I could watch the 1980's V mini series which was shown on Kent telly on Friday rather than on Monday on the London one.

Only if you are using an indoor aerial otherwise you will need to repoint your main aerial to pick up BBC East/Anglia.

Unfortunately the main part of Southend is earmarked to pick up signal from Crystal Palace (London Region) whilst a few were set to point to Sudbury (East Region)

Good point well made.

Does any body know a way to get this on cabel or re-set my virgin box to the anglia area?

Unfortunately not, Virgin do give us Carlton, Anglia and Meridian but not the regional BBC stations. We all have to take what ever Virgin chuck down the pipe. I am guessing this is because the main headend for Virgin is in Basildon, which is definitely in the London Region.

If you've got Virgin, can't you watch it on iPlayer?

Regarding iPlayer seems again that Virgin only hold the BBC regional programs transmitted on the channels 101 and 102 so for us in South Essex we get London Region for BBC.

So i am stuck with watching the East version online. :(

Although we can see the BBC Scotland and Wales programs that make iPlayer. Managed to watch that comedy show Limmy's Show you spoke about only seen the 1st episode and after that cannot say it was killer tv, but will give it a few more episodes before deciding one way or the other.

The North West show was due to feature the Bury v Rochdale game last night, so I guess they might.

Yes, I've just watched last night's show, and Matt Holland said they would be covering the game in next week's show.

There was also a piece in the League Paper (I think) about Matt Holland who's presenting it & he said how nervous he was doing the 1st show, but it seems to be a decent attempt at covering the local games & it looks as each team will get a decent share of coverage.

The Naarwich bias was accidentally extended this week as they had to call in Bryan Gunn again for the 2nd guest spot as Fat Barry Judas, who was due to be on, was otherwise engaged. Sacking Mark Cooper!

Some welcome plaudits for our lads and Tilly on Monday's show - which I only got around to seeing tonight - for our comeback v Swindon. Tilly also got approbation for his canniness in the loan market - how prescient was that ? You Watt? You Watt etc etc ... :)
