Battrick - OD Match 11

BILLERICAY BLUE

Rose Tinted Brigade Member⭐⭐🦐
Playing the bottom of the league, and even without Evelyn, O'connor and Schoeman, I should be able to TIE and win. Only need 1 more win to guarantee a top 4 spot.

Mrs BB has a massive game today, she's 4th and she plays 5th. Win and she'll almost certainly finish in the top 4 (which in her league would be a great achievement), lose and it's the play-offs. She has a full-strength team out and is GFI.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Baseball on Valium

We can tell you that Baseball on Valium won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS v Hoveshire Hawks

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

got the league leaders at home- they've rested some players but should be clear favourite on the strength of their batting. i've let cairns rest for the whole week as well which obviously weakens my bowling. we're batting though, and have started aggressively.

End of Over 3: 33-0, runrate=11.00
Ross 2-0-19-0
Scholes* 17 (10 balls)
Rautenbach 16 (8 balls)

We've been made to bat so let's see how we get on with both bats set to very attacking:

End of Over 4: 32-0, runrate=8.00
Johnson 2-0-15-0
Sajjad* 19 (14 balls)
Cunningham 13 (10 balls)

Not quite the start I had in mind

End of Over 13: 110-0, runrate=8.46
Lebese 7-0-59-0
Cunningham* 40 (34 balls)
Sajjad 65 (44 balls)

slowed up by their better bowlers but still going better than i'd hoped.

End of Over 17: 103-0, runrate=6.06
Gadsby 4-0-16-0
Scholes* 54 (57 balls)
Rautenbach 46 (45 balls)

Nearly had the run rate up at 10 at one stage!

End of Over 18: 158-0, runrate=8.78
Johnson 9-0-76-0
Cunningham* 57 (48 balls)
Sajjad 95 (60 balls)

I've just realised that I've played the wrong bowler. Dusty pitch and I've picked a rubbish F instead of a rubbish RHS. 0-32 off 3 and counting

Finnis 1-0-14-0
Cunningham* 73 (58 balls)
Curtis 21 (9 balls)

Last Wicket: Sajjad c. Johnson b. Jeffery 106 (FOW: 186/1)

21.6 4 Finnis to Curtis
Great timing as the ball disappears through backward point for four runs.
21.5 4 Finnis to Curtis
Good hit from Curtis, Carty is underneath it but gets his feet tangled and tumbles backwards much to the annoyance of Finnis. Four runs.
21.4 4 Finnis to Curtis
Back to the drawing board for Finnis.

Oh the shame of being tonked everywhere by the bottom of the table :(

Last Wicket: Cooper st. Browne b. Titterton 14 (FOW: 45/9)

S-l-o-w progress but very comfy stuff. May just bowl Guy and/or Jackie straight thru next week and see how that works out. Want to chase the runs quickly and have opened with Titterton and Browne so hopefully that should be good!

Kev

At last:

End of Over 34: 48-10, runrate=1.41

Titterton 1-5 off 5 overs.
Guy 2-17 off 7 and Jackman with VERY impressive figures of 5-3-2-3!

good batting performance against a strong attack. they still have to be favourites, although i have a feeling that they may have TIE'd, which could make it closer. we shall probably know after the first few overs.
