Battrick - Match 3

BILLERICAY BLUE

Rose Tinted Brigade Member⭐⭐🦐
Top of the table clash for me today. Should win comfortably, but I'm PAN just to make sure, as my fitness is a bit low after GFI'ing during my Cup defeat on Saturday.

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to bat.

End of Over 5: 29-0, runrate=5.80
Street 3-0-16-0
Tselane* 12 (12 balls)
Evelyn 17 (18 balls)

Maybe Evelyn will finally get an XP pop if he gets another ton today.

Bah, I wanted to bowl first at Highton. They are a good, solid all-round team with no superstars. I think my best chance in beating them lay in inserting them on their green wicket and bowling them out for a below par score.

As I think the weather is sunny, hopefully I can rack up a decent enough score. The key in that lies in at least one of my openers getting a ton and a couple of other players staying with him for a big partnership.

Look look! 7 overs in, no wickets down!!!

End of Over 7: 37-0, runrate=5.29
Myhill 4-0-23-0
Maymann* 17 (21 balls)
Askew 20 (21 balls)

Both set to defensive, both defensive players, both have hit a 6 so far! Going to be an interesting game, they are a decent team and we have TIEd to give ourselves a chance in the cup. Myhill's wages are £12,000 so if we can fend him off we'll hopefully be facing weaker bowlers later on.

End of Over 12: 74-0, runrate=6.17
Moyo 1-0-6-0
Tselane* 36 (30 balls)
Evelyn 38 (42 balls)

End of Over 12: 59-1, runrate=4.92
Holdsworth 1-0-12-0
Canning* 19 (24 balls)
Griffith 28 (31 balls)

First wicket down but Maymann did the job I wanted him to do and 19 is better than his usual duck down at No. 6.

End of Over 11: 51-1, runrate=4.64
Waters 1-0-7-0
Askew* 27 (34 balls)
Botham 3 (5 balls)

Last Wicket: Maymann c. Jeffers b. Patterson 19 (FOW: 42/1)

Botham's season average is 4, let's see.....

Great start for me in this top of the table clash (1st against 2nd). Couldn't have asked for much more from the first over...

End of Over 1: 1-3, runrate=1.00
Lynch 1-0-1-3
Woodward* 0 (0 balls)
Kesterton 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Finch c. Conelly b. Lynch 0 (FOW: 0/3)

0.6 . Lynch to Kesterton
Tight shortish ball on off stump, tapped down into the covers in defence.
0.6 wd Lynch to Kesterton
That's a wild bouncer from Lynch as the ball flies three feet over Kesterton's head. Conelly showed good agility there in not conceding any byes.
0.5 . Lynch to Kesterton
Full and rather wide outside off stump but Kesterton fails to cash in. The ball is forced into the ground and it tamely bounces away to cover point as all the pace is lost from the stroke.
0.4 . Lynch to Kesterton
Good ball, he had Kesterton fishing at that. No run.
0.3 W Lynch to Finch
Thin edge and gone. Great take by Conelly, diving to his left!
0.2 W Lynch to Greer
Shortish ball straightens alarmingly on Greer, he's squared right around on the crease, gets a huge leading edge which flies up in the air, Bowden hurries forward from mid off and slides to take the catch low to the ground.
0.1 W Lynch to Reed
Lynch shouts like a kid on Christmas morning, and the umpire's given him out LBW!

Reed has a BTR of 42K so it was certainly nice to take him out first ball:)

End of Over 22: 126-0, runrate=5.73
Haynes 6-0-36-0
Tselane* 56 (56 balls)
Evelyn 67 (76 balls)

Bradley 6-1-23-1
Griffith* 53 (61 balls)
Thomas 27 (29 balls)

B, I liked your Press Release :)

B, I liked your Press Release :)
Had to be said, Saj now gets a chance to redeem himself as a No. 4. Good knock from Askew, he never scores big but exceptional concentration means you can almost always rely on him to add a reasonable amount of runs.

End of Over 23: 101-2, runrate=4.39
Southgate 2-1-2-1
Botham* 33 (47 balls)
Sajjad 0 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Askew b. Southgate 45 (FOW: 101/2)

A little slow for a H&F but wickets in hand so can't complain.

Im 135-3 after 28 overs. Also a little slow going for a H&F pitch but im TIE'ing and morale aint exactly high ...

End of Over 30: 176-0, runrate=5.87
Haynes 10-0-71-0
Evelyn* 101 (111 balls)
Tselane 71 (70 balls)

End of Over 30: 152-3, runrate=5.07
Bradley 10-1-35-2
Griffith* 73 (82 balls)
Finnan 7 (14 balls)

Last Wicket: Thomas c. Stock b. Bradley 40 (FOW: 136/3)

And that's your toughest game BB? :D

New territory for us, we've now had three half decent partnerships! Oh and Botham has managed only our second half century of the whole season.

End of Over 30: 133-2, runrate=4.43
Bayliss 5-0-19-0
Sajjad* 8 (19 balls)
Botham 57 (74 balls)

Last Wicket: Askew b. Southgate 45 (FOW: 101/2)

End of Over 38: 211-3, runrate=5.55
Brittain 9-0-58-0
Phillips* 41 (43 balls)
Titterton 83 (92 balls)

Last Wicket: Ottley c & b. Hope 52 (FOW: 122/3)

I love Titterton! :)

End of Over 39: 207-2, runrate=5.31
Waters 10-0-66-0
Botham* 102 (111 balls)
Sajjad 35 (37 balls)

Last Wicket: Askew b. Southgate 45 (FOW: 101/2)

Yes, that's a SZCC century! Now I'd like Botham to get out and save his stamina for bowling. Curtis can deal with the last ten.

And that's your toughest game BB? :D

QUOTE]

Certainly is :o It's going to be a very boring 15 weks or so until I have another competetive fixture.

End of Over 39: 226-2, runrate=5.79

Mcintosh 1 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Finnan b. Carbon 31 (FOW: 200/4)

me 1st versus a very dolly 2nd today.

They made 52 all out, with wickets spread nicely, and i made the total in 10.2 overs with no loss... NRR gain of 3.2, which means a 6.4 gain on them as they were second.. perfect!

End of Over 42: 233-4, runrate=5.55
Hope 6-0-28-2
Phillips* 53 (58 balls)
Hitchman 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Titterton b. Hope 93 (FOW: 233/4)

41.6 W Hope to Titterton
Well Titterton has played all around that one as the ball pitched in the rough and bowled him round his legs! Take a bow son!

There's goes my hopes of 300!

End of Over 50: 331-2, runrate=6.62
Carr 10-0-64-0

Ramsden* 33 (26 balls)
Griffith 151 (141 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcintosh lbw b. Melia 3 (FOW: 213/5)

Griffiths you legend!

Hope Ramsden's knock didn't take too much out of him. I need him to open the bowling.

Got the toughest teamin the legaue and got:

End of Over 50: 298-6, runrate=5.96
Swanton 10-0-60-2
Ruddy* 46 (36 balls)
Dodd 1 (1 balls)

I TIE as I knew I wouldn't win and told him this on league sledging. he has TIE aswell now and I think with that socre I may actually stand a chance! he does have 3 batsman that are at least Superb though so it's going to be close.
