Battrick - Match 11 - Pre-match nerves for Mr B??

A partnership that's not the 4th wicket!!

End of Over 29: 163-1, runrate=5.62
Moore 2-0-18-0
Askew* 71 (76 balls)
Cook 72 (78 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham b. Byrne 17 (FOW: 28/1)

Won't batting for so long hinder his bowling performance? Would want one of my all rounders to play top order but worried how it would affect his bowling.

Gamage gone, I'd really expect a Superb/Quality to do better, and my last batter in.

End of Over 37: 179-5, runrate=4.84
Griffin 5-0-23-0
Gamage* 16 (30 balls)
Drury 92 (89 balls)

Last Wicket: Boateng c. Winner b. Wild 49 (FOW: 139/5)

37.1 W Moore to Gamage
HOWZAT? Given him. A neat catch by Johannes after a good piece of bowling by Moore. Gamage just didn't have an answer.

all over

And that's the end of the match. Napster's XI won by 9 wickets.
ashleys allstars 73-10
Napster's XI 75-1

End of Over 12: 75-1, runrate=6.25
Hibbert 0-0-5-0
Jefferson* 27 (25 balls)
Sutherland 16 (10 balls)

Could do with a BT collapse here, don't want to be chasing much more than 230

Wazzes Wanderers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 40: 197-4, runrate=4.93
Schoeman 10-0-55-1
Bignot* 102 (123 balls)
Alder 7 (20 balls)

Last Wicket: Farrell c. Law b. Schoeman 22 (FOW: 163/4)

Edit - Got my wish

End of Over 43: 215-8, runrate=5.00
Curle 7-0-42-1
Bignot* 113 (133 balls)
Pye 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Ashmore c. Blake b. Curle 0 (FOW: 215/8)

42.6 W Curle to Ashmore
You won't see an easier catch than that, Blake didn't have to move in the end.
42.5 1 Curle to Bignot
Bignot's worked that nicely between the fielders for a single
42.4 . Curle to Bignot
No run as Bignot is forced to defend a great ball from Curle.
42.3 . Curle to Bignot
All swing and no ping for Bignot.
42.2 2 Curle to Bignot
Played into the gap between mid off and extra cover, easily run two.
42.1 . Curle to Bignot
Straight bat, Schoeman running in to field.

End of Over 42: 212-7, runrate=5.05
Oconnor 6-0-33-3
Bignot* 110 (128 balls)
Ashmore 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Finch c. Evelyn b. Oconnor 0 (FOW: 212/7)

41.6 W Oconnor to Finch
A superb delivery from Oconnor earns the faintest of edges. Finch shows great sportsmanship and walks briskly off to the pavilion. The umpire looks relieved as that would have been a difficult decision to make.
41.5 W Oconnor to Hoult
Outside edge, Schoeman waiting for it at backward point and an easy catch as Hoult makes his way back to the changing room.
41.4 W Oconnor to Alder
OUT! Alder has top edged the sweep and Evelyn has made a great reaction catch.

Nice timing!

40.2 1 France to Askew
Clipped off the pads to square leg.
And that's a century for Askew! Well played indeed Sir!
40.1 1 France to Cook
Makes room for himself, but he can only force a single.
And that's a century for Cook! Well played indeed Sir!

End of Over 40: 221-1, runrate=5.53
Moore 7-0-44-0
Cook* 99 (105 balls)
Askew 99 (115 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham b. Byrne 17 (FOW: 28/1)

These boys are top, but IMO arent the best team in my league (bowling attack wise anyway).. if i can get rid of there top order once they bat, i could sneak it, i feel i need 260 though... getting there..

End of Over 43: 197-2, runrate=4.58
Hazell 7-0-40-1
Sneath* 5 (5 balls)
Gadd 34 (33 balls)

Last Wicket: Cole c & b. Hazell 77 (FOW: 182/2)

oh ****, i forgot to put my new spinner into the game and instead my prof/resp trainee all-rounder will be opening the bowling :(

End of Over 46: 219-10, runrate=4.76
Oconnor 8-1-36-5
Bignot* 116 (143 balls)

Stride 30 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Wingham c. Leacock b. Keogh 0 (FOW: 1/1)

this should be interesting... on the one hand, i'm TIE'ing and 4 of my bowlers are batsmen who can't bowl for toffee. on the other hand, the other team are ****, and i've set a bit of a total...

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 49: 340-10, runrate=6.94
Mcaliskey 9-0-58-1

Charlton 1-0-7-1
Woodhall* 2 (3 balls)
Humphreys 19 (17 balls)
Last Wicket: Sharpe b. Charlton 21 (FOW: 71/5)

Won by 7 wickets to all but wrap up my division (the team in second would have to win all his remaining games, I'd have to lose all mine, and he'd have to make up a NRR deficit of over 5).

Of my rivals for the automatic spot, Michael Fish are defending a total of 196 and have Vulgar Boatsman 59-3, so will probably stay ahead of me on NRR, although I'll probably narrow the gap a little.

Scaly Piscine who are a game behind, are chasing 273 on a green pitch in sunny conditions; and ReSpite who are two games behind me made 155 on a green pitch in cloudy conditions so there's a possibility to stretch my lead for the final automatic promotion spot to the county championship.

Same here Dave,
