Battrick - Match 11 - Pre-match nerves for Mr B??

BILLERICAY BLUE

Rose Tinted Brigade Member⭐⭐🦐
Not his BT game of course....

Good luck for tomorrow mate, hope it all goes well

Wazzes Wanderers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

I think that's about 5 tosses on the trot that I've won.

DIBS DIPPERS v NorfolkandChance

We can tell you that NorfolkandChance won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this overcast and cold day.

Never seen that weather before !

End of Over 4: 15-0, runrate=3.75
Byrne 2-0-7-0
Cunningham* 5 (12 balls)
Cook 10 (12 balls)

All new opening partnership, both new signings in the last couple of days. Well sort of. Hoping to not be 3 wickets down for a crap score for once!

Hmmm....

5.5 W Byrne to Cunningham
Cunningham lets a straight one go and it's taken his middle stump, poor batting.
5.4 2 Byrne to Cunningham
A big heave-ho and the ball went way up in the air, but thankfully for Cunningham it landed in no man's land and they were able to take two.
5.3 4 Byrne to Cunningham
FOUR, timing, pure timing! Stroked gently through the covers and it races to the fence before extra cover can so much as blink.
5.2 4 Byrne to Cunningham
That's four all the way. The fielders watch in awe as Cunningham hammers it into the fence.

Tuckett 5-1-12-4
Westhead* 2 (8 balls)
Wynand 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Custis c. Back b. Tuckett 0 (FOW: 24/4)

I've got the overcast and cold thing, which should help in my attempt to get myself out of the auto promotion spots.... we were 58-3 a minute ago.

make that about 100-3. i put everyone on very attacking in that hope they'd play silly shots on an uneven pitch. instead, Rautenbach has finally turned into Adam Gilchrist like he was supposed to be all season, and is currently 53 n.o. off of 31 balls.

Cracking first over from Nguyen-Lee

End of Over 11: 24-6, runrate=2.18
Nguyen-lee 1-1-0-2
Westhead* 2 (14 balls)
Dunn 0 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Rosefield c. Tuckett b. Nguyen-lee 0 (FOW: 24/6)

10.6 . Nguyen-lee to Dunn
There seemed to be a sound there as the ball passed the bat and entered Murray's gloves, but the umpire rightly adjudged that it was bat hitting pad.
10.5 . Nguyen-lee to Dunn
Ouch! Silly point felt that.
10.4 . Nguyen-lee to Dunn
Good length delivery on the stumps and Dunn is behind it defending well. He looks for the single but decides against it. He’s keeping the fielders on their toes here.
10.3 . Nguyen-lee to Dunn
No run. Yorker dug out to mid wicket and fielded by Back.
10.2 W Nguyen-lee to Rosefield
Wild slash from Rosefield goes straight up, and pocketed easily by Tuckett at mid wicket. A soft, soft dismissal. Poor batting.
10.1 W Nguyen-lee to Wynand
Nguyen-lee put some extra spin on that one and Wynand came charging at the ball, missing completly, the ball spinning staight towards Murray who whips the bails off; well played.

Don't you just love it when your tactics work perfectly:D

yeah... I'll reserve judgement on that until he's done it against some better bowling, but if nothing else this has to be an entertaining one for the fans:

End of Over 22: 186-4, runrate=8.45
Woodhall 1-0-11-0
Rautenbach* 100 (60 balls)
Charlton 35 (31 balls)

I might win this one

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 25: 73-10, runrate=2.92
Whittingham 2-0-5-2

At the half way point looks a bit more steady,

Six runs there... OH MY GOD! Give that man a slice of cake! He deserves it with such an outstanding catch! Seems this team trains gymnastics! Brilliant skill shown by Winner
