Battrick - Game 14

BILLERICAY BLUE

Rose Tinted Brigade Member⭐⭐🦐
Anyone got a vital game today ?

Roke Island XI v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We're guaranteed a top 4 finish, and will finish 2nd if we win and Ferretts lose to the leaders. Full-strength on a GFI.

And we've made a good start...

We can tell you that Roke Island XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a little uneven. Should be tough for the batsmen on this sunny day.

End of Over 6: 38-0, runrate=6.33
Jervis 3-0-20-0
Lindop* 13 (20 balls)
Evelyn 24 (17 balls)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS v monkey sloggers

Mrs BB needs a win to guarantee 4th spot, she plays the side in 7th. She's also at full-strength, although she's 1/2 a bowler light after selling one of her A/R last week and not replacing him yet.

She's made a steady start.

We can tell you that monkey sloggers won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

End of Over 7: 34-0, runrate=4.86
Donnelly 4-0-24-0
Potter* 22 (22 balls)
Stride 11 (21 balls)

Bottom with nothing to play for except possibility of making sure my opponents who are second from bottom get relegated as well.

bought a nice exceptional/sensational bowler for £4m. Now to buy a decent batsman.

Playing second place with a win needed for autopromotion. My main strike bowler went for 7 an over on his opening 7 overs on hard and fast. Spinners are on first wicket down and rr at 5 per over. If I can keep it to that I should win.

Still going well, and helping out YB at the same time :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB loses a wicket, but she's doing OK.

DIBS DIPPERS v monkey sloggers

monkey sloggers won the toss and elected to field.

Last Wicket: Stride lbw b. Cave 58 (FOW: 130/1)

Good man, although I'm no doubt letting my own side of the equation down.

1st vs 2nd; we're already up but want a win to guarantee a good spot in the promo tables... got a feeling oppo are on a GFI so could be interesting. struggling to take wickets atm but they're not scoring at a rate we shouldn't be able to handle.

End of Over 30: 120-1, runrate=4.00
Devine 10-0-49-0
Drummond* 54 (97 balls)
Dilantha 26 (50 balls)

Last Wicket: Monkhouse c & b. Cairns 34 (FOW: 54/1)

Playing a bot, I need 4 points and to overturn 6 NRR to finish 5th

End of Over 27: 49-10, runrate=1.81
Cahill 3-2-3-4

Not quite....

Montgomery* 74 (61 balls)
Keigher 34 (38 balls)

Last Wicket: Holt st. Wrigley b. Foxe 31 (FOW: 176/4)

It's all gone horribly wrong, collapsed from 184/2 - 212 all out, could be tough to win from here.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 46: 212-10, runrate=4.61
Arthur 8-1-29-4
Burns* 23 (28 balls)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB still going well.

End of Over 48: 245-4, runrate=5.10
Cave 9-1-46-2
Eagles* 47 (25 balls)
Gowland 13 (13 balls)

Last Wicket: Morgan c. Cave b. Donnelly 23 (FOW: 204/4)

228 needed for autopromotion. A couple of semidangerous bowlers to worry about but I'm confident

End of Over 8: 43-0, runrate=5.38, reqrunrate=6.21 (303-3)
Richardson 4-0-22-0
Blom* 17 (22 balls)
Heggett 25 (27 balls)

After i got 303, i cant see them making up that NRR that they need to. Im 4th and vs 5th but im 4 points and 5.35 NRR better off than the oppo!

Last Wicket: Holt st. Wrigley b. Foxe 31 (FOW: 176/4)

Thanks.

I dropped Keigher down the order as I didn't think he'd score any runs as he was tired!

Crushing victory, with Begg going through the tail, means we guarantee 3rd spot and will finish 2nd if Ferretts lose.

And that's the end of the match. BATTY SHRIMPERS won by 112 runs.
