Incidentally, I was about to post a pic of Jamie Pressley in order to further push MNIE's claims, but doing a Google Image searxh for her comes up mostly with stuff that would turn this in a 'not suitable for work or kids' thread :whistling:

I have done, but it doesn't seem to work...

Time for a google image search methinks!

My Name Is Earl is more evidence of the domination by the USA when it comes to comedy. Never got Ab Fab, therefore in my mind it was ****.

I think MNIE will suffer (alot like my Phoenix nights) as alot of people have never heard of it or have just ignored it, shame.

Well, I hope it gets a bit further than round one.

From My Name Is Earl.

Patty the local prostitute is in court:

Judge: I sentence you to a fine of $500 dollars.
Patty: Any chance you want to take that 500 out in trade. I'll let you take a ride on the Patty wagon.

I'm actually wondering where the series might go from here. Last week's episode probably would have been a good way to finish the show but as long as the quality continues I hope it goes on for a while yet.

That is the problem with this poll is that people will view AF on how it was by the end which it had been drawn to a painful death whereas MNIE is fairly young so is not hitting the same tired marks.

I enjoy MNIE and have managed to see every episode on the first transmission since it began mainly as it is always on serial record on my PVR, however I went for AF as I compared them both after the 3 series and I felt AF has caused me to laugh out loud more in the first 3 series then MNIE.

I am also not sure whether MNIE is the cool thing to watch at the moment so why some tune in. I started watching as I am fan of Kevin Smith films and Jason Lee has starred in a majority of these films so I wanted to see how he was going to do in a mainstream TV show.

Same here. But the level of humour - mainly by way of Randy is hilarious. Plus the cameos are good, the women mighty fine, the story arcs are clever, and the overall moral message of redemption works as well. Overall, an exceptional comedy, which works in many many levels.

Ab Fab works on erm, two. Mother cooler than daughter and Lumley as a boozer. That's about it. Oh, and a not very subtle dig at the PR industry - like shooting fish in a barrel.

MNIE is a masterpiece in comic writing.

Agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed and agreed.

You two should get a room. ;)

Cameos are good as it is easier for US Tv to get a higher calibre of actor than anything made in the UK.

The women are indeed fine, so i will give you that.

story arcs - I would not say they are really clever but what the writers intended from the beginning so need to be considered when writing each series. I would say that AF never intended to have story arcs as main drive behind its creation.

Randy: I can't touch books. You know how afraid I am of paper cuts! They might as well make books out of knives!

Earl: This marriage was better than my last marriage. My wife cooked and at least one of my sons was a blood relation.

Catalina: Men don't like it when other men sleep with their mothers. It is why my brother killed my father.

Randy: Hey Joy, can you help me?
Joy: The only thing that would help your worthless, never-achieve-anything-in-your-waste-of-a-breath life is if somebody drowned you in the river. (starts laughing) I'm just giving you a hard time sweetie. Whatcha need?

Vote EARL!

Vote Earl!
Catalina: I will jump for you, Earl, but I will not jump for Joy.

Earl: Carrots are the devil's food. Uh, but that doesn't mean don't make devil's food cake. I love that stuff.

Earl: Remember, real men keep their emotions bottled up until they explode, and then they punch something that has nothing to do with what they're mad at.

Earl: She didn't mean "stealing stealing"! She's from Canada, and in
Canada, "stealing" means "working hard and obeying the law"
