Sorry Kay I think that as a bald statement is wrong. Alf Garnett was a brilliant comedy creation by Johnny Speight. And his character is still as relevant today as it was when created in the mid 60's.

He was an obnoxious, racist bigot, and there are still many "Alf Garnett's" in this country today, and such bigotry should be highlighted IMO.

Just looking at the scores Blackadder is romping this, I will vote for Blackadder after this round (unless drawn against Steptoe) but in this round I'll go for the under dog, on the premise that the writing & characteriasation of Til Death is still relevant today.
