Today is the final pair of first round matches, with 2 oldies, one mega-sitcom and one load of US toss in action ... first up callans Till Death Do Us Part will have a battle to stave off MKs Blackadder

Seconds out ...

Well people of Shrimperzone, I feel confident that you will do the right thing here.

Blackadder brought us four series of genius, acted by the cream of British comedy - who can forget Miranda Richardson as Queeny in Blackadder 2, Rik Mayall as Lord Flashheart, Stephen Fry as Melchitt, Captain Darling and of course.... Tony Robinson as Baldrick.

This was Rowan Atkinson at his finest. Every episode would have you in stitches with Bladder's grand plans to get rich backfired. There's a comedy quote in every episode and it doesn't age - Bladder will still have people in shiny suits and flying cars in hysterics in 50 years time!

So vote Blackadder Shrimperzone, you know it makes sense.

And Callan, if it gets a bit tight.... I have a cunning plan....

I've been asked by callan to post the following on his behalf ...

--------------------------

Now we all know MK is a wet old lefty so I guess it's only fitting that he comes up against Till Death to us Part in the first round.
A vote for his choice of comedy would no doubt be a vote for a communist state, more immigration and S Club 7 reforming and dominating the hit
Parade.
A vote for my choice is of course a vote for England and St George, a vote for common sense and the end of political correctness.
This is not just a question of fighting for a sitcom.
We are fighting to save the whole world from the pestilence of MK's tyranny and in defence of all that is most sacred to man.
What General Grout called the Battle of Dibley is over. I expect that the battle of Mrs Miggins pie shop is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Zone.
The whole fury and might of MK must very soon be turned upon us.
MK knows that he will have to break us in this Zone or lose the war. If we can stand up to him and his choice of sitcom, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands
But if we fail, then the whole universe, including Shrimpers online, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of MK's perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if Shrimperzone and all of its forums last for a thousand years, men will still say, "This was their finest hour."

VOTE FOR TILL DEATH DO US PART

------------------

Cheers,
Callan

Alf Garnett was very much of his time, Blackadder is simply brilliant and one of my favourites in this competition. The same pen pairing as Vicar of Dibley which attracted so much dirisory comment.

The union of Rowan Atkinson with Tony Robinson was imply inspired, and I'm sure our Irish friend will appreciate any reason for posting some of these! There are very few in here that I would vote for against Blackadder in this competition so this is one of the easiest for me.

You forgot the beautiful Gabrielle Glaister who played Bobbb! I once met her at the Palace Theatre where she played Marilyn Monroe, many years ago!

Blackadder for me, by far the best comedy in the competition & certainly better than the overrated OFAH! :whistling:

blackadder without a doubt, many away trip on the coach in the late 80's early 90's was spent watching the blackadder video's, quality stuff.

This could be a whitewash.

Blackadder would have been my nomination for the tournament except for wanting to make sure Yes Minister got a run-out.

Blackadder all the way for me.

Blackadder...Blackadder...Blackadder...Blackadder.

One of the best programs ever, not just sitcoms.

"What in the name on Bonaparte's balls is this fellow doing now?" Stephen Fry as Wellington.

Anyway..........

"Oh Sir Walter, really"

"Hi Bridesmaid, like the beard. It gives me something to hang on to!"

"You have a woman's bottom, My Lady. I wager that sweet, round peachy has never been forced twixed two splintered planks to plug a hole in a sinking ship"

Poor old callan :D

He can't get near a pc today .. so does anyone care to text him the latest score :whistling:

To be fair on Callan this is like the 70's Brazil national team taking on The Shrimperzone Under 5's girls team who have been blindfolded.
