Battle of the MODERN film directors

Quick note that our favourite rigger of polls Blueblood Mugabe is going to be the deciding judge should any ties end up all square so you know where to send your freshly printed £5'ers. :D

Yep, bribery anmd corruption are second nature to me ...

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, i have absolutely no idea or even interest in film direction so the old adage of putting your evidence up to sway my vote your way has never been truer

First round results:

John Woo (Ricey) 23 beats M. K. Shalayaman (Jassyfa) 9
Martin Scorsese (Brettie Angel) 36 destroys Michael Moore (Irish) 2
Frank Darabont (Cricko) 21 beats Gullermo Del Toro (Alexis) 13
Kevin Smith (Bob Cratchitt) 14 beats Darren Arankofsy (Pubey) 3

Odd mix of voting there with 38 voting in the Martin Scorsese v Michael Moore battle with just 17 in the Kevin Smith v Aranofsky battle.

Anyway, next set of first round draws coming up and congrats to those who've made it into the last 16.

More first round results:

Sam Mendes (Bailey TQ) 17 beats Mike Newell (Big Shrimp) 5
Tim Burton (Godber) 21 beats John Huston (Supershrimper) 3
George Romero (Clinton B) 11 beats Gerald Thomas (Uxbridge) 7
Stanley Kubrick (Drastic) 21 batters Clint Eastwood (United We Stand) 4

Next round draws coming up!

Bah ... My Battles often attracted 50>60 votes not these puny numbers

Makes mental note to hack into SZ servers on the next totty cup to makes sure Uxbridge nominates Bella Emberg. :p

Oh come off it.

Hattie Jacques please.

Round 3 results:

Oliver Stone 13 (Marvel315) squeaks past an unfortunate Danny Boyle 11 (MTS)
Unsurprisingly Steven Spielberg 18 (FatShrimp) trounces David Fincher 4 (Rusty Shackleford) but it was a tough draw.
The Coen Brothers 19 (me) batters ;) David Lynch 5 (DWB)
John Hughes 15 (Bobby G) pips Ron Howard 11 (Kent Shrimper) despite being brown bread.

Final set of first round draws up soon!

Final round of results from the first round.

Quentin Tarantino 19 (GB Jnr) beats Wes Anderson 5 (Aberdeen)
Christopher Nolan 11 (Seany T) beats Wes Craven 5 (Napster)
Peter Jackson 8 (Bluesmanager) squeaks past John Boorman 7 (Gt Yarmouth)
Ridley Scott 16 (Genial Harry Grout) beats Rob Cohen 8 (Tarqy baby)

Thanks to everyone who's taken part. Could do with a bit more input from those who nominated! (I'm looking at you Bluesmanager ;) ) The draw for the 2nd round will be done by my glamorous assistant Mrs MK and I'll post it up tomorrow morning.

2nd round to start Monday morning.

Blimey first time entering one of these and I thought I would be out on the first round :) Lets hope I get an easy draw for round 2.

I came down with some kind of superbug (of the "makes-you-lose-the-best-part-of-a-stone-in-weight-in-a-day" variety). Sorry chaps. Spent all day cooped up in bed watching DVDs (ironically mostly the LotR Extended cuts. Knew I'd forgotten something).
