Bishop's Finger (OldBlueLady) takes on Timothy Taylor's Landlord (Yorkshire Blue)

Landlord is an eminently more suppable pint, but Bishop's Finger comes in bottles for home consumption. Awkward, but Taylor edges it.

ps. What an absolute travesty in the first heat  :darkcloud:

Oh dear, not the heat I wanted here at all, but nevertheless, just to remind you all

Another snippet for you -

Bishops Finger 5.4%

Landlord 4.3%

I was going to make some sort of glib comment about real ale and women going together like... well like real ale drinkers and women, but then I remembered that some ladies might think I was being sexist rather than taking the pee out of real ale drinkers, so I thought better of it...

I generally prefer the slightly crazed recklessness of home brewed cider rather than the comfy pipe, slippers and cardigan of the real ales, but when I do occasionally opt for the ale these are both brews that I wouldn't regret choosing.

Bishop's Finger may have the saucy adverts and be stronger, but blood's thicker than weak ale - so Landlord it is for me I'm afraid...

The finest substance known to mankind, Timmy Taylor's Landlord has won more awards than any other beer in history including CAMRA's beer of the year on at least four occasions. Anyone who has tasted a properly kept pint of Landlord will know why.

An alluring pale amber coloured beer, I could spout on about its combination of hops and complex fruitiness followed by its crisp, dry, bitter finish, with a hint of malt and sulphur in the background, say how full-flavoured and well-balanced it is or you could just go and taste a pint of it and experience it yourself. I'd recommend the latter, because my words (well those of the Good Beer Guide) don't do it full justice.

Tim Taylor's Landlord is the nectar of the Gods.

Vote for it, but more importantly drink it.
