Had a beer saturday with my pal who knows Adam Barrett and apparently Col U are still after him and AB has said that it could happen as they are expecting them to up their bid and the chance of playing CCC footbal again would make it hard for him to turn down.

Now what are peoples thoughts on this, would we sell him as every player has a price , also i would be suprised by this but my pal has always kept me in the loop regarding going ons with AB before

cool. well it's going to be a squeeky-bum two weeks for some of our better players (i still think someone might make an offer for g-man)... and also a chance to get rid of a couple and sign a decent striker

Don't mean to bad mouth your friend but I don't believe him. If it was any other club I could see it happening but its Colchester and Adam is Southend through and through. Won't happen in my life time.

It would be a stupid idea for us to sell him. He is one of the only players that showed any sort of passion on the pitch on Saturday and he is the same every game.

I would be amazed if he would even consider a move to our main rivals after how he always says how much he loves the club.

Tommy Black is definately worth a start, he has impressed in the games he has come off the bench and looked better than how JCR has started the season.
JCR may have the pace but unless he learns that football is a team game it isnt going to benefit us.

He's fast approaching his 28th birthday and had one shot at the Championship already in what turned out to be an injury hit season. It doesn't matter who the buying team is. A footballer's point of view may be that his chances of playing at that level again are few and he should take whatever opportunities come his way. I can see this happening.

I'm talking about first time crosses, not waiting for the defenders to come back and then putting it into touch / onto the roof of the net

I remember against Orient JCR banged in a fantastic first time cross but there was only Harrold in the box.

Indeed, but that was only one occaision. Too many times so far this season we've been crying out for him to release the ball to another player or cross it in but he chooses to try and beat his man for the umpteenth time and either loses it or it's dealt with by the defenders, who have used the time JCR wasted to get back in place.

He's both a blessing and a curse, and that's what's so frustrating about the lad.
