Barnsley win

when we get beat on saturday by leicester that should dampen down all those optimist people on here .

If we don't beat Leicester - who are on a roll- all is still not lost . It is unrealistic to expect our weakened team to beat them at the mo --and the crowd MUST get behind the team on Sat , just like they did at Sheffield Woeday.A point is going to be useful.

By the time we play Ipswich , hopefully we will have a fully fit squad and then we need to win 3 in a week. That would give us 41 points going into the mini break .

A draw at Hull (42), a lucky one nil v the Ewes (45) and we will be in with a good shout over the final few matches .

Meanwhile someone else is going to slip into the mire . Anglia news is now starting to talk about Ipswich and Norwich as being in the fight against the drop . Take a look at their remaining fixtures on the other thread.

Where we have the advantage is that we have been in this situation for some time and have become conditioned to the doom and gloom merchants /press coverage . Our boys remain up for the fight despite this -just look at the passion on show when that penalty was given - I didn't see anyone shrug their shoulders and limp away.

Panic could set in at a number of other clubs -especially the so called 'big' ones . Their fans will turn on them. WE MUST NOT LET THAT HAPPEN TO US . WE HAVE WAITED FOR YEARS TO GET BACK INTO THIS LEAGUE AND WE ARE GOING TO FIGHT EVERY INCH OF THE WAY TO STAY HERE.

If you are on this site it means you care about the Blues . We can all play a part in our recovery by getting solidly behind the Blues in our remaining fixtures and drowning out the doubters. Starting on Saturday.

I still think that QPR, Luton and Leeds will go down. Obviously us, Norwich, Barnsley, Hull and Ipswich will be part of this relegation battle, with us being the more likely of the list to drop down.

I know people are saying it doesnt matter about the run ins because of the surprises that are always lurking in football, however....with Norwich especially having a diffcult run in, I cant see them turning over too many surprise results as the teams they are playing all need vital points to push for promotion plus they have the one over with the stronger sides. So I do think that the easier run in for us - in fact I would say we have the easiest run in - is relevant. For at least 5 games we will not have to rely on teams around us to drop the points as we can be the ones to control whether we take points off them ourselves.

A win Saturday is VITAL, without it we could find too much work to do. I draw would be acceptable. However, a win with a few teams slipping up will put us right back in the mix again..........

...... we know that our fundamental team isn't quite good enough for this league and we haven't quite had the luck, but we will have bags full of experience next season and although it doesnt often happen we have a good chance of bouncing back up

The only different that in 1997-98 season that we got small squad of less talented players & s**t manager as well, we got players of over 30 & no creative wingers with pace & cr*p forward with slow back 4 (expect Hails) - this team needed an experince manager like Dave Webb that time with his contract & bring in better players, but instead we got Alvin Martin!

The 2007/08 team will have exeperince from playing in League 1 & know what its like to get promoted from this league, players like Flahaven, Maher, Gower, McCormack, Clarke, Hammell & JCR etc will have championship experince behind them, we only have to clear out the weak players that no use to first team, add 4 or 5 keys League 1 players in, we got more than a good chance of bouncing back up as we still have Tilson & Brush in charge, this is what the players needed. We getting some good young players coming through from youth system- so Pre-Season summer is the month we will see them getting more chance.

We got new ground on way for 2008/09 season, so the players will have carrot on stick to try and get back in championship so they can play in new ground & come to train every morning (expect weekend) in the best training ground near the stadium. This will be the best selling point for new players Tilson is trying to sign in summer 2007.
