From my position in East Blacks I thought the penalty decision was on the line at the time, pretty much everyone around me disagreed though!

I thought he lost control of the game anyhow, should have given a couple of cards early on which may have meant that the game was a lot more calm later in the first half. Made for good entertainment though!

Some players didn't help themselves though did they? Pigott was stupid and whilst I don't think Wordsworth touched the guy I think the manner of the challenge was reckless. Can't blame the ref for that either.

Never a penalty, the guy who was fouled was clearly outside the box. If it was in the box, send Bentley off instead of booking him. Simple.

Simple, but wrong.

The sanction to be applied to Bentley does not change whether it was 2 inches outside the line, 2 inches inside the line or on the line.

In fact, if a referee is in two minds as to whether it's Denial of an Obvious Goalscoring Opportunity, I think he'd be more likely to go red if it's outside the box.

As stated earlier this incident does not tick all the boxes for a red card anyway.

I think I can clear this one up.

Just had a call from the ref. No idea how he got my number, but still, modern technology, eh!

Anyway, when he spoke to Dan he said he was going to send him off before Dan explained that there was some fella waving a pen and a goalkeeping contract around in Row A of the black seats, wearing a Leeds United jacket.

Dan went on to say he was running over there to tell him he wasn't interested and this guy was putting him off, when suddenly he clattered into a some Tyke in a red shirt. He said the last time he looked, we had the ball at the other end of the pitch, so he thought it was safe.

The ref explained that he would have sent him off, but fully understood Dan's decision as no-one likes Leeds and he'd be nuts to join them, so he just yellow carded him.

Seems fair enough to me.
