Average Rating

Pringellodoccopy.jpg

This is my initial idea. Room for more info at the bottom (top goalscorer etc) or can just crop it, though the season ratings will have more players after tonight.

Looks fantastic.

Cheers for the good words lads (and lasses).

Thinking about putting a worst player of the week below the best player too. Going out now, but all suggestions will be considered when i get home.

The graphic looks really good Jon. If I find some free time at some point (other than the few minute 'zone time') and we think it's worth trying to make it automatic then I'm happy to try my hand.

Love the graphic - that looks really good. Top marks!

Interesting that those are the average ratings of the players. Pretty much as I imagined it might be.

Would there be a way you could show whether a player is playing increasingly better or worse. Maybe a colour coding 'traffic light' system. Green for progressing, yellow for playing to same standard and red for recessing? Just to make your fantastic job a little harder!

That's a good idea, can either incorporate an arrow saying the player has progressed up the table (i.e. better average rating now than other players) or their latest rating is greater than their last rating.

Prefer the latter myself. For example, say Grant was normally on 6.94 and after his next game he's now on 6.96 then maybe a green arrow next to it, regardless of whether he's jumped anyone else's average rating? Just my personal preference anyway. Good idea though.

Something along these lines;

right, i feel the whole look is complete. my only dilemma i have left is how long to leave it after each game before i publish the results...obviously need to give time for everyone to rate, but dont want to leave it too long, especially when we have 2 games in the week.

I'd publish the following morning. You can always backfill any additional ratings that appear that will contribute to their season total the following week.

I'd give it a full 24 hours and go for somewhere between 36 and 48 depending on the game, some aways people might spend longer returning if they're stopping over.

Saturday games I would give until midnight on Sunday, midweek games until midnight the day after the game. Should be enough time for people to get their marks in, and enough time for you to collate/publish before the next game.

Its a shame we didn't think this up in the summer and then it could have been all ready for the start of the season. I suppose it's just a case of going back through the threads and inputting all the data once its built. Shotgun Not...doing that.

I'm a web developer by trade and recently got made redundant. Like Fredheim Holm I'm willing to offer my services to the cause. Maybe if we split it up it wouldnt take as long as could get online faster.

PM me if you're interested in my help.

I'd say for Saturday games give it until midday monday (not everyone goes on SZ on a sunday), and 24 hours after midweek games.

Am only doing it for competitive games so have all the data already, and all plugged in to my spreadsheet i've set up to work it all out. I considered making a website to host the info and maybe expand it to more info as i do a bit of webdesign myself, however, i instead will prob upload an image each week (like the one at the start of the thread) with all the info. Will prob be seen by more people and of course there is then room to discuss.
