Automatic

If we beat Northampton on Saturday and Carlisle lose at Leeds we will reduce the deficit to 5 points. It could easily happen.

The hard part will be winning at Carlisle a week later, their home record is impressive - 17 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats. However, we qualify for the play offs if we beat Northampton so we can go to Carlisle with nothing to lose and play all out attack, they will be far more nervous than us. If we can beat them, we'll go into the final 2 games only 2 points behind with massive momentum, wheras Carlisle will be s****!ng themselves! It could happen...

It most certainly could, but knowing how we usually end the season, even in previous promotion years, more than likely we will lose to Nothampton to bring everyone back down to earth. We will then lose at Carlisle, draw at Tranmere and beat Port Vale to finish on 75 points which will still se us in the play-offs, then the lottery begins.

I don't want to put a dampener on all this talk but, being realistic, this is SO unlikely. Assuming we don't make 2nd, I feel the following scenario the best:

Have a good run-in and finish 3rd, thereby giving us home advantage in the 2nd leg and avoiding Forest and Doncaster, who finish 4th and 5th. Carlisle beat Leeds this weekend and Leeds then have a dodgy finish leaving them out of the play-offs. We then get to play Walsall / Tranmere, teams I would prefer to meet in a semi-final than Leeds / Forest / Doncaster (I've just got this nagging worry that we could get well beaten away by any of these!)

We already have been. Perhaps it's out or our system. The main problem will be the refs at Elland Road or the City Ground giving every conceivable decision to the home team.

I make it more like 287/1. I've based this on us being evens, 2/1, 2/1, and evens to win our next 4, and Carlisle being evens to NOT win each of their remaining games, excluding the one against us. I've excluded Donny from this calculation of course, so this is just odds to finish above Carlisle.

If I was actually laying the bet, I'd probably stick it at 200 seeing as that's about the price bookies seem to get away with.

I cant see it happening, we are flying at the moment we are gonna stuff Northampton and Carlisle are gonna lose at Leeds, then its game on at Brunton Park.

Automatic is a long shot I know but we have a chance.
