Att: Ron Martin or club spokesman....

Life President⭐
I believe that us the fans deserve more answers and reasurance than just offered contracts and they said no so i stuck them in the tranfer market.

We want to know if he the club believes the players will eventually sign or not.

We want to know if we have received any offers for these players or not and if we have will any/all funds be used to strengthen the side.

We want to know if we dont receive any offers how is the club/management going to get the best out of the players that are still contracted.

How can we improve upon this years performance in the league and push on to championship football if we cant keep hold of our best players.

How can we expect quality players to come if they know we dont pay quality player wages and will transfer list any players who dont agree terms.

All in all i do trust Ron because all he has promised has come true , but a statement from the man himself of the management would go a long way right now.

There's not an awful lot more the club can actually say... They've informed us that they've been placed on the transfer list, the reason why and the fact that the contract offers they've rejected were substantial.

Please now demand we sign Freddy. You seemed to get what you want with that post! ;)

Ron Martin = Legend
Agents = Complete ****s

Dave, I'm sure you can pass on to Ron that we're all very grateful for him keeping us in touch with what is happening. It would've been very easy for him not to say anymore on the subject, but now we know totally what is happening. Well done Ron. In you we trust.

What's all this we sh!t?

Fair play to Ron for coming out and clarifying the situation.
It's a gamble what he's doing but you've got to say he's probably got the best interests of SUFC at heart here.

However, it's all very well taking a stand against the evil influence of agents, although we need to be careful, if the club has a reputation of playing a hard bargain, agents will advise their players not to bother with us. Look at Col Ewe and their "we don't deal with agents" mentality, to try & survive in the CCC they had to backtrack and if that's where Ron sees SUFC in the medium/long-term we might need to revisit our transfer strategies.

Oh and we all know who Franno's agent is don't we. A certain David Lee. Still a money grabbing **** then. Did he not learn from his own **** up?

Right, well that story just confirms what I felt before - I am wholeheartedly behind Ron Martin and his stance. People didn't realise it because 'he only came from Barnet', but Bailey was more than likely given a pretty damn decent wage when he joined, meaning that if his agent wanted it more than double, he's probably asking (in my estimation!) for near to 4 grand per week, maybe even a tad more. I'm sorry, but that's not acceptable for this club at the moment. Once we're at Fossetts and in the CCC yes, but not now. It's wages like that which crippled us a decade ago. I don't think that Maher wasn't anywhere near 4 grand p/w, neither was Prior, so what makes Bailey (or his agent!) think he can get it?

Shocking. Well done wrong. Hopefully the players will tell their agents off for almost ruining their positions at the club and come back with more realistic demands.

I thought he was just an assistant to Franno's agent/agency?

Bailey (or his agent whichever) wanted to double his wages that is crazy!

But Bailey has two years left on his contract, why would he want to sign a new one this summer unless it's for a substantial pay increase? It makes sense to me. I think it's a shame our chairman isn't prepared to negotiate properly to keep one of our best players.

Well he's not a full blown agent as we know it, but he's heavily involved.

Someone needs to tell the little gob****e to keep his claws out! He's hardly in the best position to advise on contract negotiations/wage rises/moving clubs.

We have no need to offer him anything this year, with two years left it would have been perfectly reasonable to wait a year before offering him anything. We seek to reward him for his efforts, and who is to say we didn't offer him a substantial increase? But more than double is ridiculous and an insult.

And I beg to differ - with a ludicrous demand like that, then I think promptly placing him on the transfer list is a time-honoured and effective negotiating tactic.

Well said!

Fair enough, im happy with what the club said, i wonder if the players are entirely happy with what their so called agent said?

Hopefully we will see something good happen real soon, players are too money happy these days, where did loyalty go

****ing ridiculous Martin.. ****ing ridiculous.

You have just said there is no money to pay the wages they want? How much raised form shares then? I thought this was for the good of the team..

So come on Ron, where is the money then? You need to keep players like Bailey, instead of being so bloody gun ho..
