superb atmosphere, sounded great from my posiition in the east blacks, well doe to all with TBV. however cant heklp thinking that the friday night factor is a major part of it all ....i personally would love every game on friday s like the old day of the 70s/ 80s. So much easier for a lot of people to attend and a greta way to start the weekend .

does anyone actually know how the friday thing is sorted ....is it up to the visiting team to agree? And if so , why is that some agree and some dont ??

Probably because some clubs have a right trek on their hands and so know their away support will be poor for an evening game. Its a rush for me to get back from London for a Friday game so think how tough it is if you're a Bradford fan. General comment.

Just wish they'd dim the bloody lights or turn them off completely in the west. They never used to be on the whole game and back in the old days when it was standing shoulder to shoulder it was always dark. I'm sure it increases the attmosphere because when the lights are up people tend to chat with the person next to them rather than join in the singing . Bloody health and safty.... they'l have lights on in the bloody cinemas next! Whats wrong with people bringing a touch if they need to get up and visit the loo.

I agree with this, I was nearer the back in the 2nd half and what a mistake that was, the lights being left on was very annoying and not appreciated by my eyes!

Special mention to the 'Shoes off - if you love Southend' chant. Hope this takes a hold cause as far as I'm aware it's totally unique.

Unfortunately not a unique one. I went to see Morecambe play Mansfield in their old ground a few years back and thats been going there for a while. Looked quite impressive for most of the home fans behind their goal to be waving their shoes in the air

Newcastle have been doing 'Shoes off, if you love the Toon' for years. It's still cracking though. Was in South Upper and was easily the loudest it's been all season there, although that's not saying much. Not too impressed with people singing "£1 a beer is why your here", presumably at the people who were there on Friday but not for the rest of the season.
