Atmosphere at Roots Hall - Part Two

Atmosphere? the problem that the roof of our ground in West, South & East Stand is rubbish for making any noise, even 100 fans in North Bank can make noise of 3000 fans.

as i've said already in this thread we can blame roofs etc as much as we like but if no one doesn't chant then the roof can't be blamed. simple as that.

2 points to TBV . Firstly wouldnt it have made more sense to be in the middle of the West or at least more towards the middle so that you have normal punters either side of you allowing the chants to " spread " in both directions ?? Also what about getting something simple like " Come on you Blues ! " going , I know its a bit boring and old hat but that is the only sort of chant that a lot of people at the Hall will feel comfortable joining in with , especially the older and family types . Just a thought .

A couple of fair points there PS..

But, as there has been a good take up on season cards again this season, the only available area of the ground we can use to help lift the atmosphere is where we currently are situated, at the North end of the West Stand.

This is down to the fact that this area is where most singers congregate anyway, and is the only area of the ground we can use a drum and various flags without getting complaints from the people who have paid good money to sit in the more central areas of the stands around RH.

In terms of easy to learn chants, this is something we are looking into and indeed are asking fans for their input on, so if you have a chant that is catchy and easy to pick up, please post it in The Blue Voice Forum. We have introuduced a new chant recently which is starting to take off now, you must of heard it?.... Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Leeeeooooonnnn, Leeeeooooonnn...

:)

One problem is that the sngers in the West arent in the best place.

The singing section should be more central so that it inspires more people around them to join in.

I sit in the family stand in the West but have hardly heard anyone singing at the other end of the West! Needs to be more central.

Maybe tonight if we r shooting towards the away end we stay up that end then 2nd half move up the family enclosure and cheers on the boys when they shoot that way, i can't see it being to busy...

ah the good old days when you could walk upto what end we were kicking!!

Indeed and agree that from the Family Stand you can hardly hear any singing from the other end which is a shame because there are a few singers even in the family stand and the kids are always good to take part if the atmosphere is good.

yeah that noisy rabble in the back row dont stop do they?!!

I can hear the family end of the west stand from where I sit....

The South Lower Blue is often the funniest as it sounds like a load of smurfs sit there. Or lots of people in very tight undergarments...perhaps even the Aled Jones appreciation society?

The far end of the west is the only viable area at the moment im afraid chaps. This is something that could be addressed next season before season cards go out.

Until then, sing up wherever you are sitting and others will follow.

Its time for song leaders to make themselves heard amongst the masses.

Dont be shy, just get singing!
