as this season creeps to a long painful end

a lot of Southend supporters share your lack of ambition -

You need realistic ambitions though.

I personally see us as being able to get a play off spot this season and said from the outset 6th-10th place would be realistic.

Having ambitions that are unachievable are even just hard to achieve just leads to frustrations.

Against Leeds I think we have a decent chance, they arent in great form after all. However if we dont get 3 points I wont be calling for Tilsons head either as they are one of the top teams in this division.

so if you go to the gameTuesday are you sat there thinking -

"come on the Blues - a mid table team like ours will do well to get a point off this lot"

"come on the Blues - a mid table team like ours was always going to get hammered by this lot"

or

"come on the Blues we can have these northern no-marks....."

-

At each individual game you would surely want the best outcome possible, especially against a Leeds side and more especially against a Leeds side managed by the despicable Wise. After the game, there may be a time for reflection, analysis and thoughts of the future.

I want Southend to go up; I'd be delighted but I don't happen to think they will with the current squad. How great it would be to be proved wrong.

However don't confuse ambition with expectation. Because I don't think something is going to happen doesn't mean I don't want it to.
