Are things moving at Fossetts?

Don’t know when this is happening but the old rusty dome Ron had floated in got sold for scrap recently for a not inconsiderable amount. (Over 100k) I don’t know who the current owner of it is (ie Ron or consortium) so I don’t know who the beneficiary is, but it’s possible the roping off is to commence access and deconstruction if it’s still there
It has spent a decade just existing, uncovered in a field in England. I was told that it wasn't even worth scrapping.

It was an asset of the club wasn't it - wasn't it in most recent accounts as being written down in value? If so, how did it get in Rons hands?
If it belongs to SUFC I owe you a coke

Why not one of your beers with Froth on @Liam AAS . 🍻 :Smile2:

Bought the former Beckham Academy Soccer Dome for somewhere between 500k and 2 million! Whichever figure is accurate storing it for all those years and now selling it for scrap for 100k is

On hols at the moment so won't get a chance to dig out the accounts - could've sworn there was a large right off - but maybe it was speculation it was the dome?

It cost £2m new. Ron paid about £250,000 for it.

Best not to say that to anyone because the truth ends up with you accused of being a Ron lover.

I very much doubt he paid 2 mill but i think £250,000 is a tad low.

THE former London Soccerdome has arrived at Southend United’s training ground, Echosport understands.

Blues’ chairman Ron Martin completed a £2million purchase of the indoor training venue, which had previously been in Greenwich as the David Beckham Academy, last month.

And it has now started to be delivered to the Shrimpers’ own Boots & Laces training base, in Eastern Avenue.

The arrival of the dome will enable Blues to push for category two status in youth team football.

The dome will also be used by the first team and was the biggest indoor training facility in the whole of Europe before it was taken down in November as part of redevelopment of the Greenwich Peninsula.

Yes I was surprised at the figure after all the rumours. Turns out what prices were quoted on purchases or sales weren't always accurate with Ron.

That's a dormant company.

Last accounts as at July 23 - the dome belonged to the club
