Anyone else a bit worried about Eastwood.

Anyone else a bit worried about Eastwood

Not as worried as I would be if our team was made up entirely of players no-one else wanted.

Usually your betting suggestions are awful, but have to agree with that one. Have just lumped a tenner E/W at that price. Investment for holiday next summer!

1/4 of odds and top four places. I didn't see the game last night, but from last season you saw he had enough quality to score goals at any level.

Quite. We have an excellent player on our books. If a Prem club were to come in for him and offer him and the club good money, he'd be off. Not much point stressing about it.

Could have been there for anyone - my money would be on Lua-Lua - Hughes wants another striker and Lua-Lua wants out of Pompey...
Heard on the news yesterday Lua Lua had signed a new deal.

I am concerned, but Freddy likes it a Southend, which is a good start, an I think he is an intelligent enough kid, that he wants to prove himself at this level first, he wont want to go and sit on the bench in the Prem.

Saying that, a bid of £3M, and can we afford to say no.

I think we can, but Ron might not

This mystery sell-on clause could turn out to be a masterstroke by Grays you know....

Agree with Mick that it's far better having your players coveted than not coveted. Not so long ago, there weren't any players in our squad that would attract anything more than a nominal fee. Now I think we may well have 5 or 6 on our books and it's great news for the club.

I resigned myself to the fact that Freddy would leave one day as soon as I saw him play in League One for us. Last season, I said that I thought it would be best for Freddy to stay with us due to the circumstances. This season it's a much tighter thing but if he stays for the season, he will score brownie points for his loyalty, will have proven that he can score goals in a team that isn't challenging (realistically) and will be looking at a better spread of offers for his services.

Also, he has a chance of scoring a hattrick in every league of football. A rare feat indeed

(Bonus points for the first person to name the CCC player who has scored hattricks in all domestic leagues and both domestic cups)

As well as in the Middle Earth Premier League.

Sell him now? Doesn't sound like the Ron Martin we've come to know...

Fingers, legs, toes, eyes (and a couple of pubic hairs) all crossed this morning!!
Yeah that's fine and I understand what you're saying but if you think about it Freddy will only be under contract for one more season after this (and even thats if the club have the one-year option they said they have last season) - get Freddy tied down to an extended deal and there's no problem.....if we don't not only would we risk losing the finest player we've had since Collymore but we'll also be jeopardising our chances of attaining a large fee for his services.

Apparently Eastwood now has a new agent (Beckham/Gerrards one) so presume he will be trying to get Freddie to move on pretty swiftly to make him self some good cash. Reckon he will long gone by the end of the season but hopefully we start the season with us!

Not quite that level yet though!

Yes to all who answered Earnshaw. Also, well done for picking up on the International thing. Thought that would be giving the game away but it really does make the feat all the more remarkable.

Only other one I can think of is Zamora who might have a shout (excluding internationals of course) if he can ever get a run in the Premiership.
