TBH barrett is rumoured to be on 3k pw. And he hasnt been decent for some time.
His positioning isnt great he turns like an ocean liner and constantly fouls on the edge of the box i wouldnt be too bothered if barrett left in the summer he has been poor this season and certainly doesnt warrant 3k pw.

Barrett would have good reason for bringing this issue up. However, it is all chinese whispers and unless anyone was actually in the room at the same time and heard the conversation then it probably isn't what it seems. I don't doubt that a few of the players bought it up on occassions, but I doubt any of them were told to **** off and leave if they didn't like it.

whilst our fans continue to turn up most ppl at the club will think he is worth it.

Im not saying that i dont like barrett nor am i saying he isnt commited to the cause , just that he is not worth 3k pw. If is willing to drop to a league two wage then fair do's as i think league two is more his level. Everything is played infront of you and in the air which suits him best.

I have heard this one as well, and I think the words may have been more eloquent than have been quoted, but the sentiment of having a choice in the matter probably came over loud and clear... and could very easily be translated to "...**** off"!!

Sad if that is the case, because Adam Barratt is Southend through and through, has been totally loyal up till now and was looking likely to stay for the duration. Despite any shortcomings, this is really bad news and doesnt bode well for having any chance for keeping the rest of the team.

I dont want the rest of the team to stay, francis, mooooooos, grant and scannell are the only ones Id keep tbh

In all fairness, I agree with you - Grant, Scannell, Francis and Moose should be the core of the team next season, but I would try to keep Barratt as well, just for his experience and loyalty.

Thing is though, if Mr Southend has had enough, what hope do we have of keeping the others in the very short list of 'keepers'...??

I agree with that, it's certainly going to be interesting who stays and who goes, once the loanees are gone and the players who get offered deals by league 1 clubs, tilson/rm could be potentially be looking at bringing in 10 players!
with our league 2 status, and our cash issues, it would appear that our immediate future rely's solely on tilson, and our network of scouts bringing in young players, or might have beens like tilson and charlie mac were,

quite a tall order i feel.
