Coach
Bolton away mid nineties 2 nil win bodley ansah goals. Only 40-50 of us on a cold Tuesday night doing the conga in a huge open terrace
Colchester away March 1977, so many Blues we were in all 4 stands, Watford away April 1978, great day out from leaving Central Station till arriving back and we were on Match of the Day.
O f my games i watched at Roots Hall , the one i remember most was against Millwall , they were sitting on top of the league and had a young goalkeeper making a big name for himself, the ground was packed full, we lost 3-1 , the goalkeeper in name was ALEX STEPNEY.Later of spurs and England
Travelling in the back of transit van with no windows to Preston with Spotter, Ginger and pals for company, sitting on a wheel arch the whole way there. Had a kickabout in goal at back of main stand, but lost 3-2 on the plastic pitch after being 2-0 up. Weirdly, a great day out, though!
I think i was driving the van that day??!!! Had a mattress in the back. I recall the amazement of other motorists in traffic on the motorway as the lads piled out of the van onto the hard shoulder for a pee. Bury away was amazing, as was Stockport in 87. But my personal highlight was Chester away some time in the late 80s when after the game the coach when on to Rhyl (it was shut!) an then Prestatyn for a **** up.

13th December, 2003. I'd been living in Swansea just over three months, and we'd been struggling in the league. 3 O'clock, and not feeling optimistic.
Couple of hours later, and just witnessed us win, away, to Swansea. Not only that, but we'd come from 1-0 down. Not only that, but we scored our second (to take the lead) after going down to 10 men (McSweeney sent off) not only that, but we defended that lead for 73 minutes until losing two more to red cards (Gower and Jay Smith). Not only that, but we then scored a third!!!! (Mark Warren)
Probably the most incredible game I've witnessed, and I'd say a turning point in our fortunes from the dark Wignall (and before that some even worse times) days to the glory of Tilson
I don't, sadly, have a lot to choose from but the clear winner must be January 1969 when we went to Swindon Town in the Third Round of the FA Cup, following nine goals against King's Lynn and ten against Brentwood. A super morning at Stonehenge........some good beer in a great country pub followed by an unexpected but deserved victory. Just don't talk about Mansfield Town!:'(
The Col U game in '77 was absolutely amazing. We were under pressure and a continuous cry of "yellows, yellows" echoed from all four sides of Layer Road until - we broke and scored!! I have never known bedlam like that.
Watford in '78?? Dave Smith on the credits of MOD for the following season.. What a rivalry that was and both sets of fans hated each other to make the atmosphere virtually boiling hot. A long day and a memorable day. 1-1.
yes ,they were 2 great away games, remember col.utd, standing on some steps, after the game, going down a hill towards the station, the whole road full of blues fans, could not believe my eyes.proud as punch.watford away, you could not get any more blues fans squeezed into such a small area.could not move. loved to have been at the 1st derby.co. away game(cup).feb??76,but they would let me:thumbdown:.fans must have many memorys of that game.unfortunately for me,the southend specialtrain!!
