Question Alternative UK based Stag ideas.

DTS

The Business
Lads,

I have been asked to be best man for my mate Sweaty next summer.

We were talking about his stag last night and he wants to do something a bit different. Money is not exactly tight but for the sake of getting everyone were looking for a bit of a do at the cheaper end of the scale. Especially as our other mate wants to go to Vegas for his stag and it will be all the same people going.

We had a few ideas as follows

1) Canal Boating

2) Butlins weekender.

Anyone done either of these? Would also welcome any alternative ideas that are not the usual (Bournemouth on the **** etc).

Thanks
DtS

Recently went on a stag trip that involved Quad biking and Clay Pigeon Shooting. Highly enjoyable!!

If money's not particularly an object, then I can heartily recommend this place which you can use as a base from which to do aerial walking and quad biking from or - as you like cooking Dave - why not sign up for Rosemary Shrager's cookery school?!

One of my mates had a stag weekend in the Peak District. There were about 20 of us and we hired a converted barn. Was a pretty good weekend. Took along a BBQ, stocked up on plenty of beer at the supermarket and popped down to the local village pub. Something like that's going to be your cheapest option in the UK, otherwise it's cheaper IMO to go abroad. The initial cost may be a bit higher, but accommodation and beer are so much cheaper once you're out there.

I'm not taking the ****, but unless you've had an operation recently and forgotten to change your name to Old Blue Man, how can you make recommendations for a stag do? ;)

Make you right chadded, not only does she post on a football forum, but she also makes suggestions for homo stag do's. Next she'll be telling us how to check our balls for cancer.

I doubt Butlins will let in an all bloke group. Edinburgh was a quality stag, stayed in a cheap hostel which had it's own near 24hr pub and is rammed full of hen parties (compared to Prague where you are just with stags but I suppose ho's too!)

Penzance is a good gig for a stag do. Loads of pubs, late night/early morning drinking & dancing dens, cheap accommodation and if you book at the right time cheap trains here too. Also good views (St. Michael's Mount) and nice walks on the prom. If you're very brave, you can risk a pint in Newlyn after a short walk around Mount's Bay. Also, I'll show you my programmes. :)

I'm not aware that this thread had an "exclusivity" about it. As it goes, this is exactly where my former brother in law had his stag do, two days prior to getting married at the same venue.

I'm with you now, sorry. It wasn't a sex change op, but one to remove the sense of humour gland, and the ability to detect sarcasm. Hope the recovery goes well. :)

I'm sure you're a lovely person an all that, but really, come on. If you had said 'My brother in law had his here and he recommended it....' then fine. But how can you recommend a location for a stag do.

P.S. If you don't get where I'm coming from, then should you choose to get married again, then please*, let me organise your hen do.

*Pretty, pretty pretty, with bells on please

do it in southend, few bottles of white lightning in priory park, hit up the collymore suite for your complimentary half bottle of wine followed up by a record breaking tunnel of death at half time where fans are invited onto the pitch to beat the crap out of the stag with kicks. end the night with a trip to york road with a night cap in mayhem with macca for old times' sake.

You forgot the large sausage breakfast the next morning in the Cliff pub.
