All time worst Southend players XI

DTS

The Business
As follows

STEELE

BOOTY     MCSWEENEY  DUBLIN    HYSLOP

CONNELLY   ALDERTON  L.JOHNSON   MARNEY

                 CONLON     FITZPATRICK

How any of these made a living out the game is beyond me.

Bit harsh on Leon Johnson there Dave.

You missed Pony Richard's and Graeme Jones

I'm going to throw Andy Harris in there. In terms of ability, he's no worse than any of those in your team Dave but for the determined way he led our club down the Leagues, I'd have him in there as captain!

Chris ramsay , he was an embarrasment to the football profession.
Also think that it was a bit harsh on L Johnson, quite liked him on his day .

Either you don't go back that far, or your memory doesn't! How about Chris Ramsay, Richard Young, Mario Walsh, Phil Dudley, Andy Polycarpou, and rather a few more.

I'm sure there's plenty of people that can add to that list from further back too.

Apart from Mario Walsh none really in my era...

lets see your team then London Blue.

Keeley
Ramsey Westley McNally Hone
Connelly O callaghan
Young Whymark

I can't remember any really poor Central midfielders at the moment (that said the to centre halves were not seriously crap either)

Special Mentions to

Richards
Steele
Prudhoe
Jones G
Beard

In fairness to Pony I seem to recall him scoring a couple against Halifax once and he looked like a world beater....

Conlon was never once any good in my book.

I really liked both of them.

On the basis I'm only allowed to pick Keith Dublin in one position, here goes:

GK Neville Southall - 9 games and one point says it all.
RB Mark Hone - Looked like Beavis, played like Butthead. Narrowly edges out Andy Harris.
LB Shane Wardley - signed as a makeweight (or was it a lightweight?) when we got Tes Bramble.
CB Keith Dublin © - Awful.
CB Ben Lewis - If the milk in my fridge took as long to turn as him I wouldn't need a new fridge
RM Scott Ashenden - a poor man's Gordon Connelly, he was that bad.
LM Yemi Abiodun - great pace but no footballing ability whatsoever, he's in the team to amuse me by continually running the ball out of play when he runs out of pitch
CM Rio Alderton - Whilst his name evokes the Copacabana, his footballing skills evoked Hackney Marshes. His first touch went further than I can kick it.
CM George Parris - I think he only played once, away at Walsall, but those who were there will back me up that it was once too often.
F Sada N'Daiye - best remembered for his assault at Brentford, but half the away end was chanting off to get him off the pitch for footballing reasons
F Neville Roach - in an era of crap strikers he was the worse. Neil Campbell looked good against Orient, Pony Richards had a decent game against Halifax, but I can't recall Neville Roach once looking anything but crap.

Where the fcuk is gridelet and livett. Those two where so pony

Livett was vying for a place on my bench alongside the likes of Jason Cook, Pony Richards, Danny Kerrigan, Drewe Donkey Broughton and Marek Szmid.

Phil Gridelet is one of my all-time favourites. I thought he was hilarious.

Livett would have to be in there as our Worst 11 "dead-ball specialist"!

I actually liked dublin. Always flew into tackles and gave 110% , but no skill and reminds of another cult player by the name of dreeeeeewwwwww.
